The North Korean leadership is playing games to solidify their positions of power and
keep the military crowd at arms length they are not going to war at the moment

Not at all. It's all just a puppet show co-produced by Moscow and Beijing to scare 'Mericans just because they can.

I agree. No war, not now despite the NK rhetoric. China is the key, it's not in their interest for NK to stir up armed conflict in their back yard. They will muzzle and leash the little man before he can start anything.

The last time No Korea rattled their chains it was because they wanted goodies from the US, and the US took the bait and rewarded them for not pursuing nukes. Then discovered that NK was still after nukes. Now they have them, no war. Frankly lately the US has only gone to war with countries who don't have nukes.

Wars make good business opportunities and creates a lot of jobs. The world has drown the line in the sand so now the dare is out to North Korea to cross it and then China can take back both Korea countries because of the business opportunities in China no country will stand up against them.

They certainly do! Heck, look at Vietnam. We lost less than 60,000 people in twelve years, less than died in the same period in traffic accidents. And businesses made trillions coming up with newer, better, flashier ways to blow stuff up.

Could be. China tends not to be land acquisitive outside of their own notion of "greater China" though. Is the Korean Peninsula part of "greater China?"
