If you came into the world today and could pick your nationality, there are at least 15 better choices than to be born American, according to a study by the Economist Intelligence Unit. The firm looked at 80 countries, scoring them across 11 variables to determine “which country will provide the best opportunities for a healthy, safe and prosperous life in the years ahead.” The results, mapped out above, are both surprising and not.

Yeah, have you listened close to a non-actor Australian? F me Charlie Brown! It makes Newfie sound like Shakespearean.

Hither and yon
1) Switzerland: Small very well developed and highly capitalist nation. World center for banking and investments. Scooped billions upon billions worth of Jewish investments from the Nazi's after WW2.

2)Australia: Large lightly populated western nation with massive extractable national resource reserves. Is part of the Asian trade region which allows quick access to ever increasing markets for national resources. Is going full steam ahead on exploiting offshore O&G, onland O&G, coal mining, mineral extraction etc etc. Is quickly building shipping terminals and ports for exporting resources.Does not allow native peoples to block development of resources. Does not allow environmentalists to block development of resources.

3)Norway: Very small very well developed nation with massive oil reserves. Also has large gas reserves. Is going full steam ahead on exploiting all offshore O&G reserves.
Has constructed large ports, shipping terminals and pipeline systems for exporting resources.Does not allow native peoples to block development of resources. Does not allow environmentalists to block development of resources.

Around eigth place Canada: Large lightly populated western nation with massive extractable national resource reserves. Allows native peoples to block resource extraction, presently bogged down in negotiations with said natives. Allows diverse groups of environmentalists and vested interest groups to block resource extraction. Construction of ports, terminals, pipelines and infrastructure for export of resources presently blocked or bogged down.
We need to step up our game to compete with the nations in #2 or #3 slot.
Dont think its going to happen either.
Hey eigth or ninth aint bad.
