Maggie was a statesman alright - a man without a penis. The Iron Maiden had to give up her femininity to get that high up in a man's game.

My, my....you are quite the sexist aren't you. Why is it some men feel that women give up their femininity to achieve? Do you feel she would have been better off in the kitchen making cookies?

No. But if you also look at Indira Gandhi and Golda Meyer, all three were war mongers. At that time in history, politics on that scale was a man's game. It has nothing to do with being successful or achievement, it has more to do with my low opinion of politics. They had to lower their standards to get to those positions.

Sexism works both ways.

You like to throw that term around. Accusations are usually an attempt at deflection.

Only men are stupid enough to want to play war. Women were not designed for that level of stupidity. Although these days, more and more are joining the military for front line duty, which is completely baffling to me. I think killing people is wrong under any circumstance. We banned the death penalty but it is OK to go to foreign lands and kill them. Something seriously wrong with the human psyche.

Sexist nonsense. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Not only is it baffling to you but it is also evidence of just how wrong your sexist view is.

Margaret Thatcher?

Isn't this the loon that pimped Milton Friedman?

I would hardly trust this woman's opinion on economics considering how much the free market is failing us today.

She did put a scare into all the worthless socialists that were busy destroying England's economy at the time. Too bad there were not more like her.

I can't speak for crazy socialists, but it's clear that a free market is harmful to us.

Actually, I don't. Sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade though.

If my dim memory serves me correctly, Maggie was instrumental in putting an end to the invasion of the Falkland Islands by Argentina back in the early 80s. Is that classified as "war mongering"?

I doubt if Spade will be too thrilled with having his name used in vain!

It is not uncommon for some men to be sexually atrackted to strong women.

You missed Boudicea, Catherine the Great, and Jeanne d'Arc. All militarily successful women - even if two of them paid for it with their lives.

I thought Joan of Arc was a young peasant girl.

She was. The French burnt her at the stake because she liked to wear men's clothing.

A bit severe, they could have just held her toes to the fire, but then again they beheaded Marie Antoiinette for talking about cake.

The problem with history is that it tends to lie and distort the truth concerning women who were somewhat successful in a man's world. Thus many lies and distortions of the truth have sprung up about both Catherine the Great and Lucretia Borgia. Thus you have the myths that Catherine had sex with a horse, and Lucretia was a murderous assassin. Yes, Lucretia was a Borgia, but she spent a good deal of her life pregnant (she had eight children), and was married off repeatedly for political gain. And yes, Jeanne was a peasant girl, but she was responsible for driving the English out of large areas of France.
