Yep, sometime in March or April, Atlas Shrugged is going to hit the big screen. And boy oh boy, are the lefties ever pissed! That isn't the sound of popcorn being made or bubble wrap being popped, it's liberal heads exploding!
What I find humourous about all this is that these are the same bobbleheads that will watch crap like 'Broke Butt Mountain' or pay to see Michael Moore crockumentaries...and they are absolutely livid that a prophetic 60 year old novel should hit The Big Screen.
I am something of a chit house objectivist myself and I personally think that as entertainment, Atlas Shrugged was a flop. It reads like a poor 1940's black and white movie and it slogs for the most part. It is a good primer for the evils of socialism - but such education is wasted on stupid people that can't see the intuitively obvious flaws in it anyways. I don't have high hopes for this flick, I have seen what happens when Hollywood flakes dumb down great literary works for the ignorant masses with short attention spans - and hold little hope of this latest effort being worthwhile.
In any event, after the disappointing dreck coming from Hollywood these days...this is at least a slight improvement. Hopefully the trend continues.
