No offense, but no one here is going to sit through 45 minutes of a shaky camera.

Chris Hedges - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Amazon.com: Death of the Liberal Class (9781568586441): Chris Hedges: Books

Chris Hedges would disagree but I believe his argument is that of the generational divide.
He's just a little upset that the current generations are not clone copies of his "never again" generations which fought in WW1, WW2 and/or lived through the Cold War ("Seniles" and "Generational Lost", or as they refer to themselves as Generation Best and Babyboomers).

The major concerns today are not class mobility (even households which make under $40,000 will regard themselves as Middle Class. Essentially, the lower class in North America is something which doesn't exist in people's minds unless they are unemployed).

I think the most fundamental concern in our generation is Globalism, one word which summarizes everything from job security, social net security to demographic security to international security (war on terrorism).

Shaky camera?

Try the one on TVO or download the podcast from them.

Or be lazy and don't listen.

If his audience base wants his ideas to reach more people than they should post a transcript of what he said, as oppose to forcing us to watch him for 45 minutes.
I can read 45 minutes of speech in a minute but there's no way to shorten a video speech.

The liberal class will disappear. Who cares? For the most part they're useless eaters, upper crust wannabees. Greens most of them, they recycle, drive smaller cars, watch TV news and they're down on CO2, it'll hardly be noticed in TheElectricDepression.

Man, are you ever funny.

This post was just for you beave, Hedges goes on about bankers and big corporations destroying the middle class and on cue you don't even watch the speech while stepping in line with your enemy.

Classic.

A truly amazing read in the cold shower vein of Chomsky. I agree with him almost 100%.
For those who have an attention span long enough to read a book try Ron Wrights " A short history of progress"
