Gerry, I'm going to try to answer your question as I see it, not that it's much use as long as you are adamant about sticking to your preconceived ideas. I doubt very much if there will EVER be an end to war. As I've said before as we become more civilized, the human beings genes have been programmed to some basic actions and reactions, hunting, domineering, conquering, acquiring. Maybe the people who fought the W.W.s learned something, but I doubt if the descendents learned very much except that when you are invaded you fight back and win or you end up at places like Aushwitz. Death is a fact of life, Gerry, not just confined to war. What about the small child who lies in hospital, screaming from the pain of spinal meningitis for days and weeks before finally he/she is mercifully taken? What would you suggest we do to avoid war, kowtow to the likes of the Tallyban and Alqaida. How do YOU proposed we achieve peace with these savages?
