This year I will work hard on my swearometer,
Why we average citizens, and politicians swear at moments of aggravating situations.
Politicians are on record making statements behind closed doors with the F word present on every sentence.
Why is it that behind closed doors this is accepted and in public it is not acceptable, the optics of this reality is very hypocritical..
It appears that we are uncomfortable hearing others swear while behind closed doors we are on a completely deference mindset.
Oh well, while I am not in any position of changing the world on that subject I can only try to calibrate my own swear linguistics.
That is my own New Years resolution. Share yours…

Phukya! I'm gonna tone down the swearing too!
Gonna take better care of my heart. Almost died this year. Wanna be around for 2012 to see what happens (if anything).

I am going to stop looking for hostile and insidious motives behing people's actions. Life is so much more enjoyable without the paranoia!

Get back to fitness (light), and good eating habits, and caring for my body, I know that is boring and
repetative as a new years res. but I do the same every year, let up in november
and december, then back at it in January, it works, and when spring comes I
will feel good about myself (in that respect) and bring out the shorts and tops
and enjoy the sun.
At 70 I have figured out many other aspects of 'being happy' and having a good
life, so the physical care is important and keeps me diciplined, and lets me know
that my body won't let 'me' down, if I don't let 'it' down.

I firmly resolve (with the help of thy grace) not to make any resolutions until January 1.

Doesn't re-solve mean "solve again." Or, am I looking for solutions where there aren't any?

My resolution isn't so much a New Years Resolution as just a goal that I set a couple months ago.
On August 16 2009 I will be running in my first Half Marathon. I haven't decided if it will be Saskatoon or Edmonton as of yet. I have a couple races I have already registered for in the next couple of months, so my 'resolutions' really is to stick with it, push hard and to cross the finish line!

Happy New Year Vereya, paranoia is a common condition when the mind is overwhelmed with trivial unproductive thoughts.
Anger a bad element, not good for our harts.

Great hazmart, marathons are great, I was a jogger for 20 years and what a great method of exercise. Important to wear the right foot wear. Get an olive branch and hold it during the run to symbolize peace.

Good food and exercise is good for the body. We tend to forget that the body needs care....

I told myself four years ago I was going to take better care of my heart. Then I started smoking again after my doctor died. Whall ... I did manage to quit smoking again. Now ... if I could do something about this heart med puffiness. Okay ... so it's downright chunkybutt. Hey, I have almost an acre of hell to cut every summer - every four days no less and with a push mower. I have a couple of hundred feet of driveway to shovel and another hundred and forty feet of foundation wall that needs to be rebanked with snow every time the cover melts. That's gotta count for something like exercise. I'm spending a lot more time with the grandkids. They remind me I'm twenty-five years older than the last time I played the same way (except horsie rides are pretty much out of the equation now) New Years resolution? I've seen them come and go 52 times now, and never found one that sticks yet. Maybe I'll just resolve to make another next New Years....

The only resolution I have for this New Year is to stop cringing and hiding when a camera appears, and to instead take the chance to get tons of pics of me smiling and hugging the people who matter.

Most of the time you don't have to look too hard. Just because their out to get you doesn't mean you're paranoid. 8O

That's an excellent one, the people who matter need those images of you and them. Think you might share some of those pictures? I have this image of you in my mind... I'd like to see the face that goes with all the good and sensible and peaceable thoughts of yours I've read here.

Its not so much a resolution as much as a health improvement.. I plan to work on reducing my stress level again this year as it can only improve my quality of life.. I think of it as a goal more then a Resolution..

I don't make New Year Resolutions. I made one decades ago which I've kept: make no more New Year Resolutions.

Like I said to hubby tonight... most New Years resolutions seem to be a laundry lists of complaints about yourself... lose weight, exercise more, yadda yadda... I decided if I am going to make one, it had better be about more than criticizing myself.

For you Dex, I'll put up an avatar pic from a recent Christmas party. For a limited while. lol.

Whoes grace? I didn't say "who is Grace" by the way.
I don't make resolutions. I believe in my signature of "a promise made is a debt un-paid" and therefore - it's better not to make a promise or a resolution I may not keep. I have a plan but not a resolution and since it is only a plan at this point - if it works, I'll share it. If it doesn't, I won't. It's just that simple. Happy New Year all of you and to those of you who have the courage to make a resolution, I wish you the best of luck in fulfilling it.

What a wonderful thought, and you look great and so happy.
