I am fond of anything by Oscar Wilde. I tend to stay away from Einstein's quotes, because I am really overexposed to them.

Here is a good one, by Oscar Wilde
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

A good one by Isaac Asimov,
Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I love Douglas Adams quotes (even though it pisses off a few atheists to see a spiritual person use his quotes in their sig... lol). I found so many interesting ways of looking at life when reading his fictions. They were a true joy. Here's a sampling of some of my faves.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair. (this one is my hubby's work sig, as it applies especially to downhole rig equipment. lol)

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

I like this one by Dandemis???

"Do not condemn the opinion of another because it differs from you own, You may both be wrong"

Very appropriate for a forum......I think I'll use it...unless someone else is using it:cool:

Sarcasm: the last refuge of modest and chaste-souled people when the privacy of their soul is coarsely and intrusively invaded.

I used to use this one signature, but now I don't anymore. But, you know what, it was always a signature and a rule that I always lived by. It was...

Live Well, Love Much, Laugh Often.

from boogle:

Many of us spend our whole lives running from feeling with the mistaken belief that you cannot bear the pain. But you have already borne the pain. What you have not done is feel all you are beyond the pain.

I like that one.

Most sigs are soooooo pretentious, I don't make a point of reading them.

Northern Ontario,
Here is a quote by an old co-worker of mine when the start-up of a new piece of machinery didn't go as expected.........
"The first lesson you learn when you become an engineer is to Loose All Common Sense".......
When he said that one white hat left in a huff...when the other one stayed there he was asked....Aren't you an engineer?
Yes he responded.....but one with a sense of humour:lol:

Edit: Hope any engineers here have a sense of humour.....;-)

This used to be my sig.... and to tell ya the truth I still prefer it over any others I have seen:

My Mom and Dad said I could be anything I wanted to be when I grew up....so I decided to be an a$$hole.

I've never found a line I liked well enough to use as a personal signature line, though as a thorough skeptic and critical thinker I've always liked this one: "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." The skeptic's mantra, and as good a one-sentence summary of my attitude as I've ever seen. Anyone recognize it? I was a bit surprised when I first encountered it, it's not a sentiment I'd have expected the writer to produce, or even understand.

This was a sign in one of my places of employment:

We the unwilling, led by the unknowing, have done so much for so long with so little,
we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.
