My Favourite Aircraft

The following link is to a slide show of what I think is one of the prettiest aircraft ever built
The CL-13.........Everyone would know it better as the F-86. Canadair built about 1800 of these, all but the first fifty had Canadian Orenda engines. Canada sold these aircraft to Britain, West Germany, and even a few to the U.S. This aircraft will alway be special to me.

I'm not sure what you mean by fake colours....Do you mean the "Golden Hawks"?

I remember McEwan's field outside of Moncton, he had a bunch of them that he was trying to sell overseas when they were replaced.

Yes... Definately a Sabre - but only so many were Golden Hawks. Not sure with the tail number. Where'd the darned pic go?

Yeah... it moves a bit fast to get a good pic. But it takes me for the neatest rides!

Here is another link to a comparison of the U.S. version and the Canadair version. The big advantages were the rate of climb and the range. Later Canadian versions had well over 8000 lbs of thrust.
