Harvey's
Years ago they used to peel and cut their own potatoes for fries and put soymeal in the burger. A tad bit better for you.

They went for a crap now. They're owned by a multi-national, Compass Group.

see, when I was in Canada last (about 3 months ago), I found that the McDonald's were awful...I tried a few fast food joints in the US though. My worst has to be Taco Bell, I thought Jack in the Box wasnt too bad. (I am lucky enough to be in the only town in the UK that had one of these, so I knew what I was getting in the US) but Arby's is most definatly my favourite.

My FAVOURITE used to be a little place in Thunder Bay called Coney Island restaurant. They still serve up hot dogs and hamburgers with their coney sauce. It wasn't a chain restaurant, but it was quicker than any other place I've been to, so, I call it fast food. They make their fries with peanut oil or something...they have this really distinct taste. You can get a plate of spaghetti for 3.50, or a hot dog for a buck, or breakfast for 2 bucks. It's a little, grubby hole in the wall on Fredrica street, old as the hills. It's got an old fashioned 50's diner style counter...and it isn't retro...the place just hasn't changed since then. It has three old booths. It's tiny, but at supper time or lunch time, the line is out the door. Nothing compares, I tell ya! If you are ever in Thunder Bay, be sure to stop in there.

For a decent burger it'd either be Burger Baron in Kelowna or DQ's for a Brazierburger cuz they're flame broiled not boiled and then nuked. Quizzno's for other sandwiches. Edo's in Nelson for Japanese food.

Orange Julius in Nelson used to be damned good for a variety of hotdogs, but they closed. I liked the Chilidogs with lemon julius or orange julius for a drink.

Not sure what a "resteraunt" or what "favorite" means, but my FAVOURITE RESTAURANT of the fast-food world is, without any doubt HARVEY'S.

Coney Island is definitely great snfu; for such a cultural wasteland, Thunder Bay has some very unique little restaurants. Top if off with Merla-Mae Ice Cream for dessert, and you've set. Another good place is the 60s style Norma Jean's in Thunder Bay, though it is in a very sketch part of the city, as well as the Hoito, the Scand (Scandanavian Home Restaurant) and Ma's Restaurant, which served the freshest Chinese food I've ever had at a restaurant (though it is sadly closed now).

As far as fast food, I always get a Mozza burger and fries from A&W; when you work in a mall, you learn to stomach fast food.

However, when I want to eat fancy and spend a lot of money, the Caribou in Thunder Bay is top-notch; it is contemporary Canadian cuisine, and very upscale and fancy. My absolute favourite ever though was Feenie's in Vancouver (though getting to chat with him after probably helped it a lot).

Theres a few Coney Island Dog Shops in Rhode Island. My fav is in downtown Providence is in a old trailor type of diner and its been there decades. I used to walk down broad street to get there at midnight in the dead of winter just cause I was bored.

I like Double Whopper with cheese and NO sauce please.
They even have good coffee, and they will give me 2% milk in my coffee, they will do my
fries without salt, what more could I ask.

There used to be a place in Campbell River called Dells Burgers, good food, don't know
if they are there any more.

One one level, I don't really like any of them. High fat, high cholesterol, high salt, high sugar ... I dunno what's in Col. Saunders secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices for KFC, but I think at least the first five ingredients must be salt. It plugs up my arteries, plugs up my bowels, rots my teeth, elevates my blood pressure...

But damn, sometimes all that bad stuff tastes *really* good. Wendy's, Fuddruckers, KFC, Burger King, A&W... I love 'em and hate 'em all.

Want something good? Check out KFC's nutritional information here (external - login to view) (.pdf): look at the daily percentage values of sodium. No wonder I'm thirsty all day after eating that crap. How can six hot wings have 111% of your daily intake of sodium?

This is their nastiest though, those infamous "famous bowls (external - login to view)," where "we start with a generous serving of our creamy mashed potatoes, layered with sweet corn and loaded with bite-sized pieces of crispy chicken. Then we drizzle it all with our signature home-style gravy and top it off with a shredded three-cheese blend. It's all your favorite flavors coming together."

The price? 720 calories, 34 grams of fat (more than 50% of daily intake), 9.5 grams of saturated fat, and 3.5 grams of trans fat, and the capper, 2330 mg of sodium, or 97% of your daily intake, all packed into something that is less than two cups in volume.

CheeBurger Cheeburger

Quality meat, great onion rings and fries. Over 90 shakes to choose from. It all tastes like its homemade. Great stuff! Oh yeah, and I dare anyone to finish their one pound cheeseburger.

Agreed; Quizno's destroys Subway when it comes to taste and quality of sandwich.

Swamp water, as in every type of pop they have mixed in one cup? Tastes great as a kid.

I worked dowtown Toronto for ten years and really got to love falafals and souvlaki. Extra garlic sauce. Even had one place, Raffles Burger, that had special galic sauce under the counter with chunks of garlic in it. Had to plan that meal around the wife's monthly or I'd never get any. That stuff comes out of your pores for days.
