Smiling, as I would tell any child who asks, the homework is yours, not mine. It is hardly fair to cheat by having others do your homework for you:) good luck!

LOL Sanctus let you down easy....I won't write what my advice would be....

Although I dare you to try doing it yourself. You may learn something!

Most of the phrases are constructed the same - you only have to change the main words....and of course the feminine/masculine... Even your native language has the similar words in each phrase: je za.

So once you discover the translation of each object in the phrase and what it was "doing"....it should be an easy task....

That you can ask in English is to be complimented!!

LOL - which reminds me school students are bratty even internationally !

Good heavens if you can decipher English - anything else would be a piece of cake!

English is somehow acoustic, logical, and not hard for speaking...
French is anything but nice... I don't want to offend anyone but French is ugly and it's imspossible to learn that language unless you live in france or unless you hear it every day from someone ...

P.S. I'm not bratty ...
Maybe just a bit lazy .... :

LOL Romana I love your wit!

No doubt you can get your answers anywhere - especially on the internet and you are having fun with us here....which is nice!

Think of it this way - learning French may be an additional benefit in your life - for it is the language of love and who can refuse having sweet nothings whispered in French into one's ear by someone you are
interested in impressing.

In fact - we are doing you a favor!

If you aren't aware now - you will be.

Meanwhile back to the broom brushing the floor hahaha....

I will admit the sentences you use in English are pretty clumsy spoken that way and aren't romantic at all but when translated (even those silly ones) into French....they become yummy and filled with innuendo...

I'm off to find a Frenchman - have a nice Sunday!

Although we are a bilingual country, I am reasonably certain this is not one of our two national languages:)

I don't mind helping a bit. The last phrase "toys are for playing " translates en francais to" mange mon merde maintenant". Hope that helps, but remember "cheaters never prosper".

hello !

i'm in France and i try to help you...i do the first lines but i think you have to complete others by yourself :)

here we go :

is for :
traduction simple : est pour
correct french (français correct :)) : est fait pour ("is made for"...)

so : the floor is for walking = le sol est pour marcher is the word to word translation. it works, but in french we say : Le sol est fait pour marcher. but i think in your exercise you may say : Le sol sert à marcher. (sert à = is for). I think it's the good way.
Now see the "conjugaison" of "servir" (i don't know how you say that in english)
Je sers à.... I'm for
Tu sers à....you are for
Il / elle sert à...he / she (object : it) is for
Nous servons à.....we are for
Vous servez à....you are for
Ils / elles servent à....They (those ?) are for

Vrata su za otvaranje – the doors are for opening : Les portes servent à ouvrir.
Boja je za bojenje – the paint is for painting La peinture sert à peindre.
Žlica je za jesti – the spoon is for eating La cuillère sert à manger.
Lonac je za kuhanje- casserole is for cooking La casserole sert à cuisiner.
Krpa je za brisanje – Mop is for mopping ???????????
Prašak je za pranje – washing powder is for washing La lessive sert à laver
Ogledalo je za gledanje – the mirror is for looking Le mirroir sert à regarder.
.....

What is mop ?

bye

PS "
" mange mon merde maintenant" is wrong ! we say "ma merde"....yes..in france "merde" is a female....:)
