What was the best day of your life?

Ok, lets forget the usual, 'kids being born' and 'getting married' ones. What really stands out in your mind as a great day in your life.

I've had plenty of really great days, but recently my good lady wife has provided me with two of the best.

1. Queen & Paul Rodgers concert at Hyde Park London.
2. Formula Ford racing at Silverstone.

I also went to a party once that went on all night and into the next day whilst the hosts parents were away
That day, all the furniture from the lounge ended up in the nearby park so that we could continue partying in comfort outside 8)

Ah come on! If everybody played those rules this would have the potential to be the most boring thread ever.

I want to read about the interesting stuff, not the ones that everybody does.

I hope the best day of my life hasn't happened yet, and I'll continue to hope that's true right up until the last one. If you believe the religious fundies, that *will* be the best one. But I don't.

Been lots of very memorable ones though, especially some very interesting Saturday evenings...

One of the best days of my life was surviving making every mistake in the book, my shackleton moment. It went something like this......it was about this time of year to 8O 8 years ago, I was workin the dirt in my garden, in my home town of Port Alberni, a sweet place, up a mountain, than back down, into the valley that time forgot 8)
Anyhos....a friend came by, a fellow garderner and adventurer...after a bit of yaking we decided on a wim, we would go out for a few hours and gather chantrelle mushroom, a very tasty bits they are to! Anyho's off we went. Misktake number one!!!!! we told no one where we were going 8O Miketake number two was we took nothing with us, we were only going for a few hours 8O A plastic bucket, does not for survivial make! We decided we would try scouting a new spot, mistake number three, being to cocky!
Well let me tell you, for the next 7 hours, every fecking fear known to humans decended upon us. I gots to tell ya, my friend just about lost her grip. I wanted to join her, I did for a bit, but finally I had to like slap her face so we could THINK! Blah! we got out, by following a river. Feck me!! I gots lots more...but I gota work now.

I got to go on a shopping spree in a jewelery store one day. It was a blast.
8O 8O That would even top mine, I do believe! I love sparkly things more than life itself!!

My two most exciting days were:

1) The day I brought my Harley home from the dealership. I had to wait for it to be delivered, it was bigger than any bike I'd ever owned so I was nervous as hell, but once I hopped on, revved that engine I knew I was home!!

2) The first time I jumped from an airplane. We had spent the previous day doing all the prep work ... classes, practice ... then the wind came up. My bud and I had to return to my place, turned the weather chanel on and spent the next 18 hours glued to it.

Finally the ceiling lifted, the wind died down and we were back at the drop zone, loaded into a rickety old plane and ready to jump. Even just opening the door of the plane at that speed and height was a rush! The jump was the scariest thing I've ever done. Nothing else in life compares. After that I had to re-define "fear" ... takes a lot to scare me now! ;)

Well as exciting as shopping for jewelery was it doesn't compare to the thrill of jumping out of a plane, cept when I tried on that $24K marquis cut solitaire diamond ring. I was hoping with everything I had that it would get stuck on my finger but I guess that only happens in the movies.

If you have to skip the children stuff, that leaves out my two trips to China, so I guess that would leave.....

Having sex standing up in a waterfall.

Which, when compared to standing in the middle of Tiananmen Square or on the Great Wall, is pretty tame, actually.

Bevski 8O 8O It was not worst day, it was the best day! I survived bevski *beats chest* ouch! that hurts. Only one who lives in the wilds of British columbia knows how luckski we were. Later when we examined a map to see where we went wrong, amazingly for seven hours all we did is go around in a circle, very disorienting, and scary. But we started using our brains bevski. T'was the best day ever when we made it out 8)

8) So the best moment of your life must have been when the parachute opened up, eh?
