Valentines

There are valentines of every kind,
comic or sentimental.
On the face or inside we find
verse profound or elemental.
Some of them are made at home,
some of them are bought,
but whether in prose or poem,
what counts is still the thought.
One hopes the message has lucidity
and is not fraught with mere cupidity.
