It's time for 9/11 truthers to put their money where their mouths are.
A U.S. businessman living in Thailand is trying to raise US$1.5 million to buy an old skyscraper and a fully loaded Boeing 747 to recreate the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the World Trade Center.
Paul Salo says his "9/11 Redux" project is "important" because it will prove or disprove conspiracy theories about the attacks "once and for all."
Truthers have long suggested the New York City attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, that killed 2,996 people, was an inside job, and that the Twin Towers would have never collapsed under the weight of jumbo jets alone.
Salo says he doesn't buy into the conspiracy theories, but admits he's always been curious.
"Many people want to know more about 9/11. We are like a Mythbusters," he writes on his indiegogo.com fundraising page, where he had amassed a grand total of US$187 by Tuesday afternoon.
"We want to find out what's going to happen to the building, what's going to happen to the steel, what's going to happen to the aircraft," Salo says in a promotional video for the project.
"If there's just a smoking hole in the building and nothing happens, you pretty much know it was a hoax, right? Cos it's obvious, right?"
The plan is to remotely fly the passenger plane into the building at 800 km/h. Cameras on the plane, in the building and on the ground will stream the entire event, and "you will be able to see for yourself what happens."
For a US$5,000 donation, you'll actually get a front row seat to the morbid re-enactment.
A US$1,000 donation will get you a piece of rubble from the destruction, whatever the fallout: "A great conversation piece."

Okay, so if he buys a 747, it's not a 767, so that's a fail. If he buys an old skyscraper, it's not the WTC, so that's a fail.

I'm going to recreate a 2015 Nissan GTR by buying a 1972 Toyota Corolla and a pillowcase.

Exactly.

Crowd funding too! I am sure there is going to be plenty of overhead to get this project off the ground.

Stupid waste of time, give the money to the poor. The towers were brought down by 2 planes, navigated by drugged induced, brain dead idiots, consumed by hatred and mental illness. Are they going to recreate the pentagon hit and the plane crashed in the Pennsylvania field? 19 evil things decided to participate in an atrocity against the US that day, and succeeded in murdering 3,000 innocent civilians. No amount of conspiracy theory will negate this one. Anybody idiotic enough to blame the US government needs to step back and evaluate their level of logical reasoning.

He'll get tons of idiots to contribute but he won't be buying any planes or skyscrapers. Just fleecing a ton of idiots.
