I am looking at the touching "hats off" to Judaism at the same time as the poster's avatar showing the agony of the crucified Christ at Golgotha. I'm thinking and hoping that no irony was intended but, I don't know ...

Rome was still acting under God's will. Works for me if it is replacing the X-mas pushed by the Merchants. Perhaps Rabbi Bloomer would care to dive into the tradition a bit more for the non-Jewish members.

Eat any shellfish lately, Infidel?
You are a tad behind the times.

Ac:10:10-16:
And he became very hungry,
and would have eaten:
but while they made ready,
he fell into a trance,
And saw heaven opened,
and a certain vessel descending unto him,
as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners,
and let down to the earth:
Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth,
and wild beasts,
and creeping things,
and fowls of the air.
And there came a voice to him,
Rise,
Peter;
kill,
and eat.
But Peter said,
Not so,
Lord;
for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
And the voice spake unto him again the second time,
What God hath cleansed,
that call not thou common.
This was done thrice:
and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

It would seem to be a reference to one line in the reference below.

Da:9:25:
Know therefore and understand,
that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks,
and threescore and two weeks:
the street shall be built again,
and the wall,
even in troublous times.
