WTF!! - sticking your tounge out fad?

Has anyone noticed this new fad among teenagers? My niece takes a different pic of herself everyday for her Facebook profile picture. She always has her tongue sticking out. It's not a seductive look nor is it like when a little kid is mocking you; it's just her tongue hanging out of her mouth.

I notice mutual friends and other teens I know doing the same thing. What does it mean?


I'm scared to ask.
