The image of the Hebrew prophet Moses high-fiving Jesus Christ as both are having their erect *****es vigorously masturbated by Ganesha, all while the Hindu deity anally penetrates Buddha with his fist, reportedly went online at 6:45 p.m. EDT, after which not a single bomb threat was made against the organization responsible, nor did the person who created the cartoon go home fearing for his life in any way. A few hundred years ago the cartoonist would be burned on a stake. Western society has grown up alittle. African nations are barely out of the stone age. It could take a few hundred years more for them to get over it.

I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by the Muslim reaction to someone condemning their religion. Islam is a religion mired in the intolerance of the 11th century; at least so far as orthodox practitioners of the religion are concerned. Anyone who knows Christian history will recall that most Christians were a pretty intolerant bunch until recently. Muslims are really no different. And Locutus is right. In the age of the internet all religions are going to be mocked; especially those most likely to react violently to mockery or criticism.
