Aren't jubilees happen 25 years apart? Why is 60 years on the throne , not 75 is her diamond jubilee?

First, take some remedial English lessons and learn how to construct proper sentences. Second, 60 year anniversary is diamonds, therefore 60 years on the throne equates to a Diamond Jubilee.

Your dog die? Man that was nasty.

Beautiful Thanksgiving service this morning at St. Paul's. Impeccable as always.

Charles will probably end up doing a King Eddie.

I rather doubt that, what Edward 8 did was seen as a huge disgrace and I doubt if he wants to jump under the same cloud. He'll be king but I rather doubt if the tenure will be as long as Lizzy's.

Harper can find, what, 7 or 8 million dollars to fund jubilee celebrations and how many tens of millions to fund anniversary celebrations of the murky and inconclusive War of 1812, but can't find $1.5 million to keep an important arctic environmental research station operating? Being royalty really just means being a descendent of the most successful mediaeval thugs and warlords. What a waste of time and money.

Are you sure there are no "mediaeval thugs and warlords" among your ancestry?

It's just peasants as far back as we've been able to trace things, to 17th century Ireland, though my wife has a direct line mostly through the distaff side to Edward I, her 25-greats grandfather, and William the Conqueror, her 30-greats grandfather. The odds are probably pretty good that there are thugs and warlords on my side too, the number of multi-greats grandparents we all have 25 generations back is over 33 million people, and 30 generations is over a billion, more than the planetary population in the 11th century I suspect, so clearly the same people must occur repeatedly in both my maternal and paternal line of descent.

But if so they weren't very successful, 'cause I'm not royalty. :)

Yeah, it's a pretty nebulous thing! If you total your ancestors 30 generations back, the total is greater than the world population at the time. (Must have been a lot of incest going on, but I guess that's alright as long as it's kept in the family)

And that is how the "nobility kept their blood blue"

Will Charles ever become king,or will the crown go to his first born?

As was pointed out, Charles is next in line for the throne. I think when the Queen dies he will most likely want to be King for the duration of his life as well. I often wondered why she wants to remain on the throne but she probably simply likes being the top dog. Why not eh? Charles will do the same I am sure.

Possibly Betty want to break the record and beat Vicky's reign,64 years might be squished with a 70 years on the throne.

As for Charles, will his ears fit on our currencies? ;)
