I passed Computer Technician from a recognized college in Toronto. It was a 2 year Diploma program. But, to get an entry level job, is too tough for me specially in Toronto where I am residing. I am not so brilliant student. Currently, I used to work in restaurant. But, it is not good enough as I am not getting enough schedules. Even, market of odd jobs is not quite well in Toronto now days (even you noticed). So, it is difficult to switch from my current job. In this moment, I am planning to move in Calgary, Alberta. Everybody says odd jobs are pretty much available in Alberta. Even, entry level jobs in IT are quite available, though market is small but competition is also small. I heard there is lot of jobs in Oil & Gas industry in Alberta. But, I don’t know what the requirements are. My questions are: (1) Is it quite better for me to achieve a Technical Support / Helpdesk job in IT field? At least I wish to know the probability. (2) Is the market of Odd jobs in Calgary is much better than Toronto? (3) If I wish to work in Oil & Gas Industry, does it need any license or just 12th Grade is ok? I am just job-oriented, plz let me know is there any kind of job probability in different fields like in transportation or Govt. jobs like Canada post, Via Rail etc? Thanking you in anticipation.
