Excellent vid, that kid is impressively articulate!

I cannot for the life of me understand why some people see this as a "gay rights" issue. There really are no "gay rights" issues, they are just rights. It's just that certain segments of some populations are are not entitled to them.

That baffles my mind. They are either rights or they're not.

People who choose to spend the rest of their lives together should not be denied basic human rights. If a church of their choosing sees fit to marry them, then the politicians and busy bodies should keep their nose out of it.

Right. It has no impact what so ever on anyone else's life other then the two who are being married. Now, a church is a private institution, they can decide who they want to marry or not, but the right to get married should not be denied to any two people. Ever.

The video posted reminded me of this that someone sent me a while ago. (A little bit drier than the young man in the OP, hell the guy is an elected politician after all and they're only really animated on the election trail, but here it is anyway.)

Funny enough children raised in a same sex marriage are doing better on a number of measurable scales. From academic achievement to emotional health. What does that say about the stability of Same Sex marriages and how they live?

That suggests to me that there is deep strength of character, committment, and moral fortitude present.

Unlike their detractors, those cloaked in a false sense of superiority who, for some unknown, reason think that they have the right to pass judgement upon another human being.

Now I'm not a religious person per se, but it always baffles me how many of them seem to think that they speak for God.

It also provides an insight in to what these people went thru for decades. Experience brings education as to how to deal with the everyday things a child encounters. Who else is better than one who has survived all the hate and denigration than one who has experienced the worst that kids can offer.

It seems to me as well that the only "damage" that could possible happen to these kids is the damage that is incurred by all the hate and small minded rhetoric they must encounter in the world outside their family.

The only thing a child needs to grow up happy, healthy and secure is love, guidance, a little structure and acceptance. If you stop and think about it, who better to provide that than people who have to suffer and get beyond the hate and denigration of society in order to just be together.
