Some people here still believe the lies and manipulations which generated support for the 2003 unprovoked US led war crime of aggression to seize control of Iraq's oil wealth which has since resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. (possibly more than a million)

Number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the US led war crimes against the Iraqi people:

On December 7, 2002 Iraq declared they no longer possessed WMDs in a 12,0000 page document submitted to the UN in December 2002, 4 months before the invasion:

Third part: a preliminary assessment of Iraq's declaration of 7 December
I shall now turn to discuss those parts of Iraq's Declaration of 7 December, which concern biological and chemical weapons and long-range missiles.
I hope that my comments may be of some assistance especially to those Members of the Council who have only had the working version one day and who are about to begin their analytical work.
Although UNMOVIC has had access to this text a whole week before the working version was made available, our analysts have been fully occupied preparing the working version and my comments must necessarily be provisional. I trust there will be a further occasion for discussion, when all have had more time for study and analysis.
The first point to be made is that Iraq continues to state in the Declaration, as it has consistently done before its submission, that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, when inspectors left at the end of 1998 and that none have been designed, procured, produced or stored in the period since then.
While individual governments have stated that they have convincing evidence to the contrary, UNMOVIC at this point is neither in a position to confirm Iraq's statements, nor in possession of evidence to disprove it.

UNMOVIC - [ Selected Security Council Briefings ]

Everything in that document has been since proven to be essentially accurate and complete.

From November 2002 until the invasion in March 2003, Iraq unconditionally and proactively cooperated with the UN Weapon Inspectors. By March 7, 2003, (several weeks before the US led war crime against the Iraqi people), UN Weapon Inspectors were more or less certain that Iraq's declaration was essentially complete and accurate.

SECURITY COUNCIL 7 MARCH 2003
Oral introduction of the 12th quarterly report of UNMOVIC
Executive Chairman Dr. Hans Blix
(Several weeks before the US led war crime against the Iraqi people):

....Mr. President,

Let me conclude by telling you that UNMOVIC is currently drafting the work programme, which resolution 1284 (1999) requires us to submit this month. It will obviously contain our proposed list of key remaining disarmament tasks; it will describe the reinforced system of ongoing monitoring and verification that the Council has asked us to implement; it will also describe the various subsystems which constitute the programme, e.g. for aerial surveillance, for information from governments and suppliers, for sampling, for the checking of road traffic, etc.

How much time would it take to resolve the key remaining disarmament tasks? While cooperation can and is to be immediate, disarmament and at any rate the verification of it cannot be instant. Even with a proactive Iraqi attitude, induced by continued outside pressure, it would still take some time to verify sites and items, analyse documents, interview relevant persons, and draw conclusions. It would not take years, nor weeks, but months. Neither governments nor inspectors would want disarmament inspection to go on forever. However, it must be remembered that in accordance with the governing resolutions, a sustained inspection and monitoring system is to remain in place after verified disarmament to give confidence and to strike an alarm, if signs were seen of the revival of any proscribed weapons programmes.

Security Council 7 March 2003

How much more obvious could Blix be that Iraq not only did not possess WMDs, but also that all remaining disarmament issues would be resolved within a few months???

Anyone who read the above document (most of the UN, nearly every credible journalist) knew the Bush war criminals had been lying about Iraq's WMD capabilities and that THE US HAD NO JUSTIFICATION FOR WAR!!!!

The Bush regime knew that UNMOVIC was going to expose all their lies and manipulations within weeks to months, so they declared war while the general public still remained bamboozled and continued to believe their lies and manipulations.

After the invasion, the Bush regime desperately searched Iraq from one end to the other hoping to find some evidence they could twist into supporting their lies, manipulation and misinformation regarding Iraq's WMDs and they found NOTHING.

U.S. 'Almost All Wrong' on Weapons
Report on Iraq Contradicts Bush Administration Claims

By Dana Priest and Walter Pincus

The 1991 Persian Gulf War and subsequent U.N. inspections destroyed Iraq's illicit weapons capability and, for the most part, Saddam Hussein did not try to rebuild it, according to an extensive report by the chief U.S. weapons inspector in Iraq that contradicts nearly every prewar assertion made by top administration officials about Iraq.

Charles A. Duelfer, whom the Bush administration chose to complete the U.S. investigation of Iraq's weapons programs, said Hussein's ability to produce nuclear weapons had "progressively decayed" since 1991. Inspectors, he said, found no evidence of "concerted efforts to restart the program."...

U.S. 'Almost All Wrong' on Weapons (washingtonpost.com)

After all this time, I am still surprised to learn than many people still haven't figured out they were lied and manipulated into supporting a group of murderous war criminals who are responsible for so much unjustifiable death and destruction.

Also, in anticipation of people who will claim that because I oppose Bush war crimes, I must support Hussein's war crimes,. I was against Hussein since he came to power. I knew about his executions, deaths squads, CW attacks against civilians... and so on... at the time they happened, not 20 years later. I am also aware that from 2000-2003, Iraq was relatively peaceful (albeit most people suffered oppression under a insane dictator) and that the Hussein regime had not committed any major atrocities during that time, except possibly the execution of about 1500 former soldiers who were convicted of conspiring to overthrow Hussein. I think that happened in 2000. Also during that time about 150 women were publicly executed for adultery. About the same as Saudi Arabia.

Hussein was a cruel and oppressive dictator, but his worst atrocities were back in the 1980's when the US government under Ronald Reagan were fully aware of Hussein's actions and still gave him their support and cooperation selling him WMD technology and threatening to veto any sanctions against Hussein at the UN Security Council.

To this day, the 12,000 page December 7, 2002 Iraq declaration of their WMD programs remain the most accurate and complete description of Iraq's former WMD program.

Another way to phrase it:

Iraq almost all accurate and complete in pre-war 2002 report

My position is that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, when inspectors left at the end of 1998. Iraq did not design, procure, produce or store WMDs in the period since then. The Bush regime and their allies never provided any convincing evidence to the contrary and have since confirmed the accuracy of the Iraq regime's claims about its WMD programs.

UNMOVIC was about to blow the whistle on US misinformation regarding Iraq at which point the US declared war before the general public figured out they'd been duped. The MSM went along because they are just as corrupt as our politicians. The Iraqi people suffered terribly as a result of this war crime. The American taxpayer has been saddled with the economic costs and hundred of thousands of Americans were killed and injured. The US is weaker poorer nation as a result of one the biggest scams in history.

Death to Tyrants
This war was about oil, not a tyrant. The purpose of propaganda focusing on Hussein's 20 year old atrocities was to divert your attention.

As a result of that diversion and others, you never noticed the hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children who died as a consequence of the US led war crime against the Iraqi people. The images exist but the MSM never showed them as it might have caused people to demand holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
