I think main issue is I was sloppy in bagging and freezing. Still new to this eating at home and shopping for groceries. How often do small freezers need defrosting?

That's what I thought I am coming up on end of most time ranges. Oh well this way my grocery bills will be less as I should not be buying and meat, fish or poultry for awhile. Maybe should think about having another dinner party to clear out some stuff. lol season and batter or flour things to disguise the freezer burn. shhhhh

If you look on that link you'll see that most dairy products dont freeze well, they separate as they defrost. Ive also found that potatoes in soups end up grainy so I add them as I reheat soups.

milk is one of the exceptions to that. give it a shake when it defrosts and it's good to go

not corrected. You said most dairy products. milk is not most. Try it with cream or sour cream i expect you'd have trouble. you're statement still holds true.

Milk tastes h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e, dire, revolting, disgusting, tasteless, rancid, horrifying, filfthy, mank, ah yuck when it's been defrosted.

Sorry, my mum does it all the time, it's disgusting.

That's what my boys always say too. I buy milk ahead and freeze it all the time. I really do not taste a difference.

It's much more watery....it must be something to do with the freezing period that alter's it's coheision or something, because it tastes like the water and the white constitute in it seems to seperate.

Sorry if that sound like waffle, but it's like if you freeze diluted cordial as opposed to undiluted and try to make an ice pop out of it, it just doesnt taste right.

Oh, pickledust! You boys. So awfully fussy! How about giving your mom a break and cooking her dinner tonight?(laughing)

Last time my four boys got together to cook for me I was amazed at what they came up with! Bet many of you didn't know that pork chops instead of ground beef in spaghetti was edible.

Mind you, my boys think one of the basic food groups are Dorito's.

powdered=disgusting
frozen seems exactly the same to me. I didnt know there was anyone who could tell the difference. Maybe if you dont shake it? or maybe it's only the more fatty milks that dont freeze well? I usually use 2% or skimmed
