Thankfully there won't (and can't) be any variation of a fiberal government for a long time indeed.
The conservatives got the weakest minority in Canadian history in the last election, it's silly to count the Liberals out. Instead of trying to rectify the problems that led to the Liberal defeat, Harper has taken advantage of them in a cynical power grab. The same resentment that people directed towards the Liberals is now going to be a factor against the conservatives.

Conservative support is much less firm than we're led to believe, while huge federal funding in Quebec has brought numbers up there, most people in the province are against the Afghanistan mission. In the next election it's going to be a major issue and Harper won't be able to lie about what's going on there as he has in the past.

They're still running the country lad.

It's fun. They're dead in the water with The Wanderer at the helm.

Yes he has.

You'll Prove that of course.

The majority of the country is now against it. The troops, through consensus will be brought home.

Next.

Ah.....you mean John Manley....former Liberal cabinet superstar.

Something wrong with a little bipartisanship.....in some places called "leadership"?

Doc, I personally consider the consideration of casting a vote for any candidate running for the Liberal Party of Canada to be symptomatic of severe psychological problems........which should probably be treated by hooking them up directly to the nearest 220V line,,,,,,shock treatments can be very effective!

Agreed absolutely!

There are a lot of people here I respect immensely......and agree with rarely.......

But the debate is fun.

Warning, though, when it comes to the weapons of debate, sometimes I forgo the rapier of subtle wit in favour of the M1 Abrams of bombastic declaration of fact as I see it.

So you'd torture people who don't share the same political views as you.

You and your party represent the lunatic fringe, something you'll discover in the next election.

No.

Those who don't know a joke when they see it, and that think the "lunatic fringe" is a party that commands at the very least 30% support in this country.....they are actually the lunatic fringe.

Some joke, we're already sending people off to this kind of treatment and worse in Afghanistan. I guess Harper and company sit around and laugh about that maybe.

Shock torture is a widely used form of political repression in much of the world, the fact you think it's funny says more about your state of mind than anything else.

Get off yours buddy, I'm not questioning your right to support the party of your choice, don't question mine.

This is Canada not Zimbabwe don't be surprised if someone tells you to go **** yourself when you state they deserve to be tortured for supporting a party you don't like.

Ehh come now. It's only a joke ehh? I personally think that CPC supporters should read the fine print, to see where in fact it is the devil they sold their soul too, not the Lord our saviour

Some rips really are made in good fun. This would be why Hermann and I discussed a sarcasm colour, for those who can't tell the difference.

What can I say, I'm pissed the conservative government is supporting torture in Afghanistan and suprised that people here are so blase about it. I'm defenitely not going to sit back and let someone tell me I deserve the same because of my political beliefs, even if he's trying to hide behind humor to do it.

Whatever, I'll see you at the polls and hope there's enough Canadians who have a conscience to kick these Nazis out of power.

Well technically speaking, he wasn't talking to you, he was talking to DocDred. I don't think I could say that I know Colpy, but I do think I have a good beat on what the man stands for. I know from his posting in the past that he wouldn't seriously advocate the use of torture on someone simply for their political leaning.

As to the current Government of Canada, I hope they're kicked out of power too
