Stephane Dion, new Liberal leader, held a press conferance today, and outlined the problems with the Harper government.

Dion readies party for election call
Thursday, December 14, 2006
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2006/...n-liberal.html

In a possilby related story, an arrest warrant was issued for Myriam Bedard, the whistleblower on the VIA Rail conspiracy in the sponsorship crimes.

Could this be related to the election preparations of the Liberal Party? After all, sponsorship issues MUST be kept to a minimum if the Libs are to win the next election. Having "her" in jail would help keep that noise to a minimum.

For refreshing our memories about her role and the warrant, here are some links:

Warrant for Bedard:

Bedard's Testimony:

[plus, there was that remark by VIA's Pellitier about her 'just being a single mom looking for attention' ]

Whistleblowers are treated badly:

Ok, put it all together and see that whistleblowers [people who complain about people in high positions] are not given much help in rooting out the truth. In fact, they are usually subjected to beatings, false accusations, and unsubstantiated arrest warrants.

That is why I pose this question about the timing of the Liberal's electioneering and the Bedard arrest Warrant.

Its just a thought [at least I have some!!]

Canada can get rich by going green, Dion says
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2007/...n-toronto.html

"A Prosperous Economy, Social Justice, and a sustainable environment " - Stephane Dion lays out his vision for Canada in his first major speech as Liberal leader.

He says Canada, can get out ahead of the carbon neutral movement and prosper by developing the technology first and selling it to other nations. For sure, lets do it before it is to late.

A Neutral Carbony is a typo, meaning a carbon-neutral economy. Maybe we can keep it.

HEY!! What, no comments on Canada's next PM?

I like the Sponsorship link. Thank you! Ah, yes, there he is- Jacques Corriveau. A nasty piece of work. If he isn't forced to return his ill-gotten gains I see no reason to give the federal Liberals any credibility. Dion missed getting mud from the scandal - I don't know how, given how widespread the scandal was known in Quebec amongst Liberal organizers - but the least he can do is make sure dirtbags like Corriveau are brought to heel. If not, I'm for refusing the party the right to run for office at all in the next election. Gosh, wouldn't that be great!

Bedard is a fruitcake, she has lost all credibility with her little kidnapping adventure. Not too mention some of these accusations she made:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myriam_B%C3%A9dard

she claimed that she had been told that GroupAction was involved in drug trafficking, that her partner had personally convinced then-Prime Minister Jean Chrétien to keep Canada out of the war in Iraq, and that Québecois race car legend Jacques Villeneuve had been paid $12 million to wear a Canadian flag on his uniform. Villeneuve strongly denied the latter allegation, calling it "ludicrous".

Well, when all is said and done the LIbs are a tightly clutched group of thieves who depend on the discipline of their party to reward their merry participants.
