Windows 7 on a Dell XPS420

Hi....I recently installed Windows 7 on a Dell XPS420 computer. When I try and use my microphone it says no recording device installed. Can someone help me as to why and what I have to do.

Your microphone might not be compatible for windows 7

You probably don't have drivers installed for your audio card. Go to device manager and looker for any devices with questions or exclamation marks. If you find any, right click on it and choose update driver. If there isn't a driver located on the pc, you will have to go to dell.ca and download the appropriate drivers.
