Microsoft May Charge Extra For Antispyware

Microsoft disclosed plans Thursday to offer frustrated users of its Windows software new tools within 30 days to remove spyware programs secretly running on computers. But it might cost extra in coming months.

In a shift from past practice, the world's largest software manufacturer said it may charge consumers for future versions of the new protective technology, which Microsoft acquired by buying a small New York software firm. Terms of the sale of Giant Company Software weren't disclosed.

Of course. It costs too much, too many holes, and now they are going to charge us for a program that makes sure these holes don't let any junk in.

Hi ... I wonder if Longhorn or whatever its going to be call ( next operating system ) is reason as to why Microsoft is heading in this direction ??? Beside using a browser , How much more can Microsoft do to improve their operating system ???
