Hey, request for your new technology site... It would be cool if you could get winxp tweaking stuff up!

For an example, I would suggest tweaks and suggestions for turning off additional services and especially the ones that leave your system vulnerable.

Thanks moghrabi! I have not seen a simple and easy to follow list of stuff to be turned off for Windows XP. Definately turn off Windows Messenger, what a pain that program is.

I turn off tons of Windows services, they just open your computer up to more security holes found daily in Microsoft Windows products and addins. Would be nice if Microsoft gave you the option to install optional services in the installation. Sort of like you can with many Linux distros.

I piticularly like the options you get with Slackware Linux (yes, I am a slacker!). Simple and straight forward. (For those linux nerds out there, don't you just hate it when you are forced to install gnome *and* kde when you only really want one or the other?).

If you want tweaking... Try www.tweakxp.com they got some pretty good tweaks for your xp.. or you could start playing around services...

start->run->services.msc->enter

There are a lot of services that you can fiddle with...
