sounds like he is having problems with his provider and wants to be able to track all the times his ppoe dies on him and times when its working properly. At least thats how I understand his original post.

Then I beleive he would have to track that manually. Some PPPoE applications have a detailed log you can turn on.

Hey, I was wondering what provider do you use? Sympatico?

Secondly, you may want to do a simple query on tucows for "PPPOE" and you might come across a shareware or freeware tool.
