Well, to put it simply, this beast should have died ages ago, Specs are as follows.

E-Machine
Unknown motherboard
756mb DDR1 Ram
Nvidia 8400Gx
130gb SCSI HDD
Belkin Wireless G Adapter( "Borrowed" Internet <3)
Win XP/Ubuntu 10.04? Dual-booted
DVD-Writer(internal)
DVD-Writer(External)
Floppy Drive(internal)
CD-Writer(internal)
Compaq keyboard
Dell Monitor (dunno the size)
and I play stuff like Eve Online, Dead Frontier and any and all mech games.

Now, my wireless connection tops out at 2 bars and scales anywhere from 42mbps to 1mbps depending on how it feels, the linux has been broken twice due to kitten unplugging powerbar during update installation and the XP refuses to be formatted, has NO firewall and is missing its taskbar, it essentially has nothing but the start button, the quick launch bar and a fan that is trying WAY too damn hard. Also the C Drive takes 3 seconds to find itself XD

I did a CPU temp reading when I booted it, and it was running at like 70o O__o

And I play minecraft

Flame on <3

You would probably get better performance surfing the web on Wii.

Iknorite.

My girlfriend says the same thing >__>

But it's my baby and it's lasted me 3 years so far, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt :3

XD I've noticed.

And Eventually, I'll keep her around as a doc processor/packet sniffer.

The plan is, GF wants to help me build a custom, When I get home I'll link the parts I've looked at possibly getting for it, keep in mind I have fairly limited funding, hence me still using this glorified heater.

I know the MB and the tower off by heart so:

MB
Rampage GENE

Tower
CoolerMaster Elite 310?

I quit the pc building game, I was spending a thousand bucks a year on video cards at one point... enough of that.

I7's are great CPU's, especially in a laptop.

Yeah, I've been reading up on them, pretty hefty lil things, considering their size O_o.

I hardly think mine can be upgraded without tearing out the motherboard, covering it in pitch and torching the bastard,....otherwise I don't see why not, As long as the Tower can hold a new similar sized motherboard, its just a matter of securing the parts.

Update!!!!

Had some serious issues with the beast
-Not able to format it.
-Freezing occasionally.

Fixed 1/2 so far...

Seems to be that my internal dvd-rom is either getting old of is having issues, switched the format disk over to my external, and it worked 2/2 times.

Related issues...
Couldn't install the wifi adapter due to a mix up with my newer adapter driver disks and my old broken adapter disks(version differences and whatnot) FIXED !!!

Great news though, got it up and running fine with a freshly wiped HDD XP Black and oh so pretty.

Still havent figured out why it randomly locks up, nets are saying that it could be dying ram/dying MoBo/dying or overworked PWS.

Any help would be lovely <3
