Several qusetions:

1. Can someone suggest a good hotel in Toronto located within a few blocks walk to the main art museum?

2. Can someone suggest a good hotel in "downtown' (not in the countryside) in Stratford (for someone without a car)?

3. I am somewhat surprised by the high air fares between Washington and Toronto (over $400 RT). Does anyone know of a low cost airline that flys this route?

Thanks for your help.

The Art Gallery of Ontario is very close to the subway, so you can be somewhat flexible with where you stay. There a couple nice hotels downtown right on the subway - the Sheraton, or the Royal York. They are also very close to the Royal Ontario Museum and other cultural attractions.

For the airfare it might not be any cheaper then that unless your willing to buy them online. If your ok with buying them online try priceline.com you can name your own price on tickets.
