They even have 'full measure' forgiveness. Is that like super sizing it?

Is there a lottery for being full measured forgiven? Where can I get a ticket?

The only way you can be forgiven is to be born again: John 3:-7; and the Old Testament version is Ezekiel 36:26,27.

I have a friend who is a nurse. She is always apologizing for everything. I told her once that she could stop apologizing for having been born. She is a great nurse with a massive heart. She seems to be the only one who doesn't see that.

We forgive because holding a grudge hurts us more than the other person. I have another friend who holds a grudge against her former best friend who she says stole her lover. She can't forgive her because she says that would be condoning her actions. She doesn't see that she is the only one suffering because she can't forgive.

As for god's forgiveness, if you believe god created you and then tells you you can't be human, then the fault lies with the creator, not you. As for sinning, if you follow all the rules in the bible and quran, you would sit in one place and do nothing. If that is what god wants and expects of us then he is a lunatic - which the creator isn't, so it is your beliefs that are out to lunch.

From my perspective, peace of mind is forgiveness. I can't live anyone else's life.

You can’t forgive somebody for something or you can’t been forgiven by somebody for something? I can’t understand your point.
What do you want to speak about?

Horse pucks. All it takes for forgiveness is to accept that human beings are not perfect and that in the long run, there are very few things that cannot be forgiven.
A god which cannot forgive has only itself to blame.

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” - Mahatma Ghandi

“When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free.” - Catherine Ponder

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” - Lewis B Smedes

“Sincere forgiveness isn't colored with expectations that the other person apologize or change. Don't worry whether or not they finally understand you. Love them and release them. Life feeds back truth to people in its own way and time.” - Susan Paddison

If you believe god created you and that god is all things, how is it possible that you are anything but part of his spirit? It is impossible to not be born in his spirit so all of your warnings are nothing but doom saying for the sake of doom saying. We were all created in the image of god so how can a person be anything other than part of god? You cannot separate yourself from god, otherwise you would not exist. Your belief that a person can be separate from god is thus an illusion created by your own beliefs which, if drawn to there inevitable conclusion, are contrary to what your god intended. To continue down this path of condemning everybody who does not accept your version of truth to burn in a lake of fire, then, condemns you to that fate.

But like Bill Murray in What About Bob? he will always be there. Open any door and there will be herald with his "The End Is Nigh!" placard booming "DOOM!" with every breath. Makes one want to scream "Turn it off!!!!!! Turn it off!!!!" or vomit.

AnnaG:

Actually, society insists we do not forgive without conditions, because has it's role model to it's citizens and in particular the criminal pardon, it doesn't forgive unless it is asked for, AND, the offender submits additional sentencing not stated at trial of 300$ disguised has a "fee".

The conclusion is that whatever religion Canada holds to collectively, it isn't Christian,
because Christians believe that forgiveness/pardons are to be granted unconditionally.

That is when the forgiveness reaches out to society. Between individuals and oneself, society is left out of the picture.

It is more-or-less secular, which is handy when there are many religions. But, Canada was built primarilty with the aid of Christian principles.

That means murderers, rapists, etc. should ONLY be judged and dealt with by the Christian god, which leaves them to continue causing no end of harm to others.

God means it to be a collective effort, with individuals and societies doing their part, this is why it isn't working. Power corrupts absolutely, and when you are a society sinning, it seems to become less urgent to correct error. But the christian churches seem to be caught up in collectivism and the power that comes with it. It forgets to minister to nations and tell them that collectively they are wrong. This is because it's safer to forget about an individual who complains than a nation.

I'm not sure, or are we ever, do we know Heralds intent since he seems to mouthpiece without positing, but I can say he isn't describing what is copacetic and harmonious today and this would give a false impression.

If he claims to be extoling Catholic dogma, then at this time his Church has allied itself with civil authority instead of ministering to it, supposedly being the Word of God on this earth. The pardon issue is just one failure of the Church's mandate that it could do something about even if it is a simple protest for the individual. It remains politically correct at the expense of individual backing that he deserves.

One day a real Catholic Church will come out of it's timidity, and be unafraid to voice God's commands.

It sounds like you would impose Catholic will on Protestants, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Native Americans, Atheists, Agnostics and everybody else. In a secular society it s not the place of any one religion to dominate the rest. That is why we supposedly have separation of church and state. When Catholicisms had influence over governments we ended up with inquisitions and witch hunts. Sorry, but I and many others would fight Catholic interference in our politics and so called justice system.
