What are We All Looking For?

Everyone is looking for the same basic things in life. Fulfillment, satisfaction, comfort and security. Some of us will go to any length to get these things, but sadly, we will look for them in the wrong places. Therefore we remain truly unfulfilled, unsatisfied, without comfort and security, and it shows through our striving and fighting with one another and all our failed relationships.

So what truly fulfills and satisfies us?
It is this one thing.... getting to know God Almighty in a personal and intimate way through Jesus Christ His Son. God wants to pour His love and His life into each and every one of us, making us truly fulfilled and satisfied. It is God's intention to do good and not harm us in any way. The human race is in a fallen state and God desires to reconcile us to Himself. God wants us to know that He truly loves us, as any father would love his child and much more, and that He has a good plan for each and every one of our lives.

God's love for us is eternal, unconditional and without measure. His love is what truly fulfills, satisfies, comforts and gives us security. Nothing else will.

Ultimately, He wants us to live forever with Him in His Kingdom, and with all who turn back to Him in humility.

Jesus said:
I am the door: if any man enter in by Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly. John 10: 9-10

I am the bread of life: he that comes to Me shall never hunger; and he that believes on Me shall never thirst. John 6:35

For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3: 16-17

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:51

The forum's called Christian Discussion pfrattali, not Christian Preaching. I'm not looking for anything, I've found it. God and Jesus are not involved. You want to talk about Christian theology or philosophy or history I'll cheerfully engage you, and probably disagree with you on most points, I'm a convinced atheist with a strong interest in religious beliefs, but preaching, wherein you simply assume the truth of your claims, is not conducive to discussion.

Brother pfrattali, here, is just another salesman, a pimp for Jesus. And we all know how pimps are admired in this society.

Mostly I'm just looking for sex drugs rock&roll. Not necessarily in that order. The god stuff I can live without quite nicely since I don't like pedophiles or hypocrites.

My God, can't we pursue anything in life without some Bible thumper having to bring religion into it. Religion is a good thing- like background music, but not everything needs be overwhelmed by it. If you find religion helpful, good on you but keep it to yourself.
What I'm looking for is pretty simple- to leave the world a little better than I found it and to have fun along the way.

My first reply was that I was looking for a snack.
A little earlier, I was looking for lunch.
I'm looking for some nice scenery in a while.
So, I was replying to the title of the thread. P. wanted discussion so I was discussing. And I would imagine that P. is a Christian, and he/she started out declaring Christian dogma and Christian related interests, so I guess it could be called a Christian discussion.
I have no idea why my first reply is missing.

I'm presently looking for another job. I have set my intention, just awaiting it's manifestation. I might eat while I'm waiting. I haven't decided yet.

the themes of the forum are » Spirituality & Philosophy » Christian Discussion I think pfrattali's topic/sermon is not out of line with either of the two options..
Oh c'mon. He joined over six weeks ago and he's made two posts, both of them sermons on standard fundamentalist dogma. That's not somebody who's interested in discussion, that's somebody who wants to lay down the rules everybody should follow.

Yeah, a man's gotta know which side his bread is buttered on alright. I'd have voted for a shorter t-shirt though, not an extra long one.

You might not agree with the content of the OP's topic but it seems important in some way to him,Although i'm an Agnostic and dont believe in his chosen faith i also dont think his religious convictions should be ridiculed and his post hijacked .
