Its another post about joining or converting to Christianity stuff or you are going to hell stuff.

But as a Heathen I just don't listen to stuff like that and you shouldn't either. 8)

I love these threads.

That's right: One-way ticket, and damned proud of it. :p Haha.

Seems to me that a strict interpretation of the major monotheisms suggests that if you're not one of their followers you're going to Hell, which in turn would lead me to conclude that either everbody's going to end up there, or nobody is 'cause they've all got it wrong. I favour the latter view.

But to answer the OP, no, I am not unsure about my salvation. I'm quite sure there'll be no Christian salvation for me, which is fine 'cause I don't want it anyway and have no confidence it even exists.

How can anyone be sure of your salvation? Nobody has come back and said, "Anglicans, it was Anglicans who got it right". I like Homer Simpsons response "If I'm wrong I'll repent on my death bed".

If Anglicans got it right then its Ok to kill your spouse by decapitation and proclaim yourself the highest representative of God on the earth--followed by 500 years of piracy, religious perseqution, genocide, slave trading and shoving opium down a nations throat.

Why would I want to be sure of my own salvation? History proves that just turns people into total nimrods anyways.

Yep, absolute dicks, all those saved people, like John Locke, Archbishop Tutu, Pope John Paul. Mother Theresa, and on and on and on, including dozens of the very best people I know, including my parents and my brother.

Terrible folks.

And what a horrid philosophy!

A religion that is the very foundation of Liberal Democracy! The absolute HORROR!

RE: Are you unsure about

Salavation was a process to Reinhold Niebuhr, not a destination. Thomas Aquinas' entire theology relied on the essential seed of doubt.

that's good enough for me and I strongly suspect it was good enough for one or two of the people you listed as well.
