Police in St. John's charged three teens Thursday over vandalism to a bus fleet that cause more than $500,000 in damage.

On the morning of Nov. 23, the owner of City Wide, a coach and taxi company, arrived at the depot yard in the east end of the city to find 18 school buses with more than 100 smashed windows and the smoking and charred remains of two motor coaches.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary charged two of the teens from St. John's, a girl, 14, and a boy, 17, with arson and mischief.

The third teen, 19, from Clarke's Beach, is charged with arson, mischief and breach of probation.

The two younger teens will be dealt with under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, while the oldest of the three is in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
Security cameras at the depot captured video images of three people vandalizing the vehicles.
