It's election day, I've already voted.

I noticed that there was a sign at the voting stations asking everyone not to discuss politics. I couldn't agree more. Now is not the time to debating politics as it may intimidate those that want to vote.

Now is the time to encourage everyone to vote!

Please join me in the gesture of not saying anything in favor of or against any party until the election booths are closed. I understand that we don't need to do this, but I think that would make it that much more special for us to do.

The sign is there because you can't campaign in a polling station. Asking you not to discuss politics is a gentle way of putting it, but it's actually illegal.

Thanks guys. I was serious and sincere about this.

That's nice but I will continue to try to convince people to oust Harper until all the polls close in any way I can, even if that means standing in the parking lot of our polling station exposing Harper for the power hungry, control freak liar he is.

Actually it is a rule at the polling booth that you do not discuss politics and believe
it or not the rules were made up between the Conservatives on the right and the
Liberals on the left, long before the NDP or other left wing groups ever existed so
where does the typical left wing thing come from?
These are the rules of a parliamentary democracy and continued by Elections
Canada. There should be no signs or election materials or partisan speak as it
were within 500 feet of a polling station. I was taught that way back when i was
a child.

500 ft is not actually correct.

In Moncton, during the advance polls, some over-zealous Elections Canada official took the signs off a lawn across from a polling station, but was fired and had to return the signs when it was discovered they didn't understand the law.

Campaign literature cannot be posted on the property of an advance polling station according to the federal Elections Act, but can be posted on neighbouring properties or directly across the street with the permission of the property owner.
The
Canada Elections Act prohibits anyone from posting or displaying, inside or
outside of a polling place, any campaign material that could be taken as support for
or opposition to a political party, a candidate, or the election of a candidate. The
polling place encompasses the entire property (including the parking lot) on which

a polling station is established, up to the sidewalk.

You sounds about as obnoxious as an anti-abortion protestor... same modus operandi

hahaha.. well, don't worry, even if you didn't vote there's no chance in hell Bilek will make it. I realize we're fringing on Oakville so many old white peoples still rule this land.

But that number dwindles every year as the pace makers start failing.
