Canadians go to the polls, again.

Are you a disaffected and angry voter? Planning to pass on election day? Unwilling to play ‘party games’ again? Shouldn’t an election be about hope and renewal?

There is one alternative. Reject your ballot on election day! Make the election a referendum on our political system!!

It is hard for people to express dissatisfaction with our politics other than not voting. But not voting does nothing to fix our political system.

In the 2008 federal election 94,733 ballots were reported as rejected. A Rejected Ballot is one that cannot be counted because it is improperly marked. The easiest way is to make no mark or select two or more choices. Elections Canada reports the number of Rejected Ballots.

This is different from a Spoiled Ballot; one that is altered, defaced or destroyed. Spoiling a ballot is contrary to the Canada Elections Act and conviction could bring a $500 fine or three months in jail. So please do not spoil you ballot, not only is it against the law but spoiled ballots are not reported by EC.

Let’s make this election into something positive by sending the message that we, The People, want to see real political reform, that it is no longer sufficient to just shuffle parties around. A jump in the number of rejected ballots will be a far more productive outcome than any vote for the status-quo parties.

Remember this is the ONLY time you have any kind of say in our political system, don’t mess it up by staying home. Send a clear positive message this election! Don’t mark your ballot!

That's obiously a Liberal campaign, lol. If you really want to reject the election, and REALLY teach a lesson, mark your ballot Conservative. Nothing will send the message about how much we resent this election like a conservative majority will!

Once again it looks like people say only 2 parties, sounds very biased to me !! Alot of what Iggy is saying only way to beat cons is to vote for him. Maybe and just maybe it is time to consider the others independant, green, ndp, just not the 2 aholes that have put us here. make your choice but make it wisely!
Reject or underdog, just not play up to the pompas idiots that bs their way in!
So far main line is attack ads and sheeple will seek what they believe is the lesser of 2 evils, thus forgetting they do have alternitives!

and how is that? The Cons have pushed for this election. They have been prepping for it for close to 6 months now. They've been running attack adds for over 3 weeks, well before any election was called.

They never stopped campaigning since the last election.

Wow, they voted themselves out in the confidence vote? I had no idea. :)

Rejecting a ballot does nothing to address the other issues the country faces. Of course there are a number of people who will vote for the party of their choice regardless of policy so rejecting the ballot will result in one of the two governing parties winning a majority. That does less to resolve the parliamentary problems than voting in a minority government.

Yup, there is none so blind as he that will not see.

Tell me, if the cons weren't planning on an election, why the airing of the attack ads over the last 3 or 4 weeks? Why the call to the constituency's to start ramping up for a spring election? They wanted this, and made sure that it would happen. Only the blind would be blaming this election solely on the opposition.

"Action Plan" was just another name for "painting the painted rust of infrastructure".

More so a dangled carrot to get the donkey to move but with no chance of really getting a fair and decent reward for work done

Wish I could find that groccer that would accept $50.00 for a $90.00 cart of grocceries.
All they offer is a small portion of what they should really give and people should be overjoyed to recieve it!!

Nope. This is an unaffiliated non-partisan campaign. We do not support any party since none has anything to say about political reform.

Gee Whiz! Where were you when Reform was a force????

BTW, not participating is simply stupid.

Pick a party, join, work, exert your influence on policy and candidate choice..........the power-mad at the top just love an alienated electorate!!!!

Less than 3% of Canadians are actively involved.....

The best way to have your voice heard is to not vote?

Uh huh.:bs:

The ones that do that are the ones that whine and cry the most when the party they are protesting against get's in. They're to damn stupid to realize that a spoiled ballot, or an unmarked ballot is a vote for the guy that wins.
