Senator offended by Ignatieff's 'cotton-pickin' comment - CTV News

Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff has raised the ire of a Toronto Senator for his use of a phrase that may have originated as an insult referring to slaves, or black people. Or, as Ignatieff claims, it may be nothing more than a harmless term first used by Bugs Bunny.

Looks like political correctness has taken over the right fringe as well now.

Don Meredith is an overly sensitive, woodheaded, humourless, sour and bitter moron.

If the Conservative Party sunk this low, there really is not much hope for the country. And I say that as a conservative Conservative.

He is attempting to make a mountain out of a molehill. What a stupid waste of time.

That depends on whose hope you're talking about.

If you are refering to the working class people, well, we haven't had any hope of our lives getting better for a long time.

If you are referring to the people in Ottawa and their rich corporate buddies, they have much hope that the general public will remain apathetic to their actions so they can get even richer at our expense.

As for this tempest in a teapot.....the absolute stupidity of "got ya" politics is overwhelming at times.

Just wait until you see what the Neocons have done to the countries finances. Then you will hear some colourful language.

Oh yes, while the Liberals, NDP, and Bloc were pleading for a balanced budget............but what could they do against the all-powerful gov't???

Wait a minute......

They are politicians and as such, play only to their advantage.

Why Colpy you seem to be saying you agree with spending money we don't have right now on things we don't need by dumping the payment for it, with interest, down the road only to point out how the Liberals always want to raise taxes.
Someone is going to pay for it. Like you are going to pay for the G20 summit in Toronto with a two million dollar pond mere feet from one of Canada's Great Lakes. Jets to fly over foreign lands and kill people who fight with their own people. And of course massive severance packages for disgraced bureaucrats.

It's ironic that a neocon in denial like yourself would support the notion that it's the Liberals, Bloc and the NDP who should control the Conservative government and protect the people from Harper doing what he said he would do.

Question: Don't the NDP, Liberals and Bloc have the numbers for a non-confidence vote anytime they want???
Yep, which makes a valuable tool, when trying to coerce a Gov't that is more interested in holding power, then working for the people.
