Why is Robin Sears, a "somebody" in the NDP defending the CPC?
Do you think making things "illegal" after the fact is legitimate?
Honestly, I have some serious problems with the CPC and how it has run things.........but I have only one choice......between the CPC and withdrawing completely from participation in the Canadian democratic process.....because the Liberals and the NDP are the absolute antitheses of everything I believe.....in foreign policy, in economic policy, in domestic policy.
I will not support any party that defends firearms registration, and calls for the thievery of my private property.
I will not support any party that has leaders too stupid to understand that the USA is our friend and closest ally........
I will not support any party that calls for withdrawal from Afghanistan before that nation is stabilized.
I will not support any party that would lend unearned credence to the enemies of Israel.
I will not support the Liberals............period. (for all the above reasons, plus)
So, it is the CPC, or long nights in the basement planning the revolution.
My basement is COLD in the winter.

I'm sure you are totally ignoring the pattern of events as to the tactics Harper and his party. You know, where they seem to constantly berate and bully and undermine the institutions that give oversight on our political system. You know, the checks and balances that prevent a democracy from corruption and abuses of power. I mean you might as well stick a crown on Harper's head if you really want this for our country.
I've listened to the spokespersons for this party on this issue. My BS metre keeps going off. Why isn't yours?

I actually was leaning towards abandoning the CPC.....until I read an editorial piece in the Globe and Mail by Robin Sears.....he staunchly defended the Conservatives against Elections Canada. Sears says Elections Canada used to consult with all parties when defining the rules, and that it was always pretty well left to the Party to decide how and where money could be spent...... Sears also claims Elections Canada decided the "in and out" scheme was not acceptable retroactively.........a complete departure from common practise.

I don't know about the retroactive decisions of Elections Canada, but here's my beef. You're a CPC supporter, and you've donated your own money to the party. There's of course nothing wrong with that. You should spend your money as you choose. But as part of this "in and out scheme", local candidates had money transfered from the National party to their campaigns, that's money you donated, and then back to the National party. Then they recieved tax rebates for that money. That's the allegation as I understand it. That means that other Canadians, who haven't chosen to support the CPC, are actually having their tax money support the donations made by you and other CPC supporters.
Maybe this is also happening with the other parties. That's not proven yet, nor is it proven with the CPC. But if it's true, that's a gross abuse. Overspending is one thing, it's quite another to abuse tax payers.

Tonington, your point above is on the money.
So rude for a group of political vicious circle opportunists who feel we will tell them we are better but when we get in they will not know what hit them, as it has been demonstrated by Snow White Harper ethics Institute from theft of voting civil rights, to fraudulent campaigning.
The Federal Government out to do in his boss, the people who gave him a mandate although a minority it is still a chance, and while Harper is on with his secret plan to punish the voter who voted and people who did not voted for them with a cost which was fraudulent in the eye of the watch dog Elections Canada.
What is really more iretating here is that, Snow White thinks that they will win taking Elections Canada to court. A totally absurd expectation.
If this was an IQ test to test the current morons for moral and ethical competence they have failed miserably in the tune were they could miss the next train to govern.
