If Harper should do anything, its to keep his promises to bring the legitimizing of homosexual marriage before Parliament in anything but the lip service it was given in this Parliament. I'll not give the Conservatives support unless they rededicate themselves to ridding the country of this absurdity, and reformalizing marriage consistent with natural law, divine purpose.. and basic common sense.. that is between one man and one woman to the exclusion of all else. Our current state of disarray and confusion on such a basic element of societal structure.. will have vastly disruptive economic and social consequences in the near and long term.

PM won't discipline Lukiwski for anti-gay slurs

Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Monday that he won't discipline MP Tom Lukiwski for the anti-gay comments he made on a recently discovered 1991 videotape.

During Monday's question period, the prime minister told the House of Commons he believed the member's sincere apology was enough.
"It is my view that when such an apology is sought, such an apology should be accepted," said Harper, responding to Liberal and Conservative demands that Lukiwski be stripped of his role as a parliamentary secretary.

Although referring to Lukiwski's comments as "completely unacceptable," Harper stood his ground, saying "the generous and high-minded thing to do is accept the apology."

Too bad one can not find out how generously forgiving Harper and company would have been, if they had been insulted like that.

How well put.

Hi, Karl;
you have a secret fan, but.... one has to be willing to accept change! Gay marriages are here to stay, we just have to get used to it.
Next time I get married I don't want any of those meaningless, ceremonial formalities and contraptions.... his love and word would be good enough for me!

Quoting Socrates the Greek
dancing-loon, in medical terms, when a part of the human body has cancer the right thing to do in many cases is to cut the Cancer out. The patient has a better chance surviving than treating it. TOM the bigot should be treated as cancer and booted out of the house. He should run as an independent and let the people decide if this cancer is active or in remission. Nothing else will work here, anything else would be self serving NEO CON politics.
Hi, Socrates;
thank you for responding to my thread. I would like to agree with you, but it also seems to be an over-kill. The man has apologized. Whether it is sincere or superficial, is for the insulted person to decide... not us.
Mr. Lukiwski will come around one day and feel how truly hurtful his remarks were.

dancing-loon, I respect your statement and I am officially out of this debate. Forgive my anger but I hate political bullies.
Enjoy.
