Unlike the fictional Pinocchio, ours has his chin grow by increments as he tells more lies.

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/natio...schreiber.html

According to a repsresentative of the company Mulroney was claiming to be lobbying for in exchange for the $300,000 Schreiber paid him.

Quote:
"It's absolute nonsense," Haastert said. "We have not asked for this and we could simply not have imagined that."
Also according to Canadas then ambassador to China when Mulroney claimed to be lobby its government on behalf of Thyssen.

Quote:
"As far as we at the Embassy were aware, we were not aware of anything of the sort, and we would have been, normally," Bild said. "I just find it very strange."
And what happened to his testimony back in the mid 1990s when he swore in court he had no close business deals with Schreiber, didn't take money from him and in fact barely knew him. That was perjury and based on that lie Mulroney was paid $2.1 million from the pockets of Canadian taxpayers, that's fraud.

I'm sure Harper will find a way to protect his buddy, but this sleazebag deserves to spend time in prison.

So now Mulroney is claiming he was some kind of secret agent for Schreiber, no one else knew about his role as lobbiest.

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/natio...y-thyssen.html

There's also no evidence that he ever did any lobbying for Thyssen.

What's more likely is he took his part of the kickbacks paid so that Air Canada would buy over 100 new passenger jets from Airbus. Schreiber had $20 million in a slush fund for that purpose and bought off senior Mulroney advisors according to his own testimony.

Mulroney should give up the act and take his place in Canadian history as one of our most corrupt officials ever. His lying just adds insult to the injury, he should definetly pay back the $2.1 million plus interest he took from taxpayers based on testimony we now know to be false. His "I barely knew Schreiber" act in 1995 was a joke, he took as much as $300,000 in under-the-table cash payments from the man. Mulroney is starting to look more like a confidence man than a former PM.

The man who had the gall to smear the legacy of Pierre Elliot Trudeau now shows just how morally bankrupt he really is. A sad day for Canada and the Conservative party.

And for those of you who claim its not the same party thats bull****. Harper wnated the credibility that the Conservative name would give his far right-wing Alliance party and he got it with the merger with the PCs. He also took on the sad legacy of the Mulroney era. You can't have it both ways Stevo.

Conservatives are all the same. Pretend to be the honest,God fearing, stand up citizens of our times, and then eventually get so greedy that they reveal themselves for the pond scum they really are.

I take offence to being called pond scum; pond scum is useful.

Now hang on.......

this part of your post neatly ignores one simple truth.....

The Reform Party, and then the Canadian Alliance, existed ONLY because of some conservatives deep dislike and distrust of Brian Mulroney..............they destroyed his government, and the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada because the HATED Mulroney.

I should know, I'm one of them.

It is a bit of a stretch to blame the people that pulled Mulroney down for his actions.

I can't stand the SOB.

Here is an article from the Globe and Mail today that kind of hints that Mulrooney didn't get any money and that Schreiber is a big liar, all according to his former accountant via video-link from Switzerland.
It wouldn't surprise me, if the accountant, Pelossi, apparently a crook himself, is also a liar, because he and Schreiber had a major money dispute in 1991, when Schreiber accused him of embezzlement.

I think all of the key players in this Air-Bus Gate are tainted with corruption! It will be pretty much impossible to nail Mulrooney, because the tangle of lies surrounding this case is too much to sort out and get to the core of it. They all try to protect themselves from being even further exposed as the Non-Angels they are!

At least Martin had the balls to set up an independent inquiry over the sponsorship scandal. Harper is so afraid of Canadians learning anything negative about the Conservatives he's got a death grip on access to information.

You can't even get information from Environment Canada now without going through the ****ing flunkies in the PMO now.

Ya, and I'm a svelte 6 foot blonde Norwegian.

The Minister of Finance knew nothing of the funds and where they were going...

OK, so you praise him for either subverting the process, or for being the most inept Finance Minister in the history of Canada.

At least the rest of us now the difference between the Cons of the Buloney years and that of the CPoC of today.

But hey, don't let the facts shatter that agenda Cobalt.
