I don't care if the mother's life is in danger. I don't care if the new child will bring the mother and father and their other kids into poverty. I don't care if the mother was raped by a guy with AIDS and her and the baby will die eventually of it. I don't care. It's wrong. Ever hear of adoption? Now I know some of you pro-choicers will say it costs a lot of money to adopt and it takes a long time to get the child. And there are thousands and thousands of children that still need to be adopted and they probably never will. So what? The Bible says it's wrong. End of story.

Raw,
That's a one track mind. Apparently you've never heard of the Catholic Principle known as double effect, you should look that up.

Would you care if your wife was dying while giving birth, leaving one or two toddlers behind?

I don't care if the mother was raped by a guy with AIDS and her and the baby will die eventually of it. I don't care.
But you certainly would care about it if you were a woman, although I don't know what gender you are. I'd be surprised if you're female.

You don't seem to care about the mother, father, existing children, poverty, health of parents, rape, AIDS or much of anything except the rights of a 4 week fetus. I think you have a funny value system. Maybe you need to reread the Bible to get a better understanding of the entire book.

Ive had several pregnancies due to rape, and although Goddess in her loving heart knew I could not handle it, I miscarried all three. I would stand with my daughter or friend or any woman that feels abortion is in her best behalf. Its a personal choice and noone has a right to judge. IMHO

No it doesn't, you're simply twisting an interpretation out of it that suits your agenda. The Bible says nothing directly about abortion, and the word itself does not occur anywhere in it. All such references are indirect, highly questionable, and open to multiple interpretations. The closest it comes to a direct reference is a passage in Exodus that talks about what should happen when men fight and cause a woman to lose her unborn child without actually harming her physically. It's a bit of a stretch to interpret that as forbidding abortion. There are also several passages in which god himself causes or threatens to cause abortions in women who've displeased him. The Bible does not consider a fetus to be a human life, and in fact seems to suggest nobody's worth counting as a person unless he's at least a month old, and male.

What is it with you, Raw? You've started three threads, all in the Conservative Lounge, you've posted in no other threads, all three are labelled with the angry icon, and in all three you express extremely judgemental and intolerant opinions.

Got anything interesting or useful on your mind? I've seen just extremist nonsense from you so far.

Oh please, it is already quite clear to me that, besides being a bit of a nutbar, you have the moral intergrity of a gerbil. It is not alright to murder babies because you want to And frankly, it is highly unlikely you really got pregnant three times from three rapes. Bit far-fetched if I may say so myself.

What happened is, you probably selpt around, got pregnant and then played "Igot raped" so you could justify killing a baby. Newsflash, abortion is not birth control dearie.

With all due respect to your sympathy, understanding and truly christian compassion, marygaspe, let me tell you that you are a B**CH. A real ripe and exemplary one, not some kind of a cheap fake. I can never understand what makes people say such things about others. Are you really so hateful? What made you? Or have you been born that way?

To Self-Activated - Tam, I wanted to PM these words to you, but since you got so hurt right before everyone, it will probably make you feel a little bit better if I write it here. Tam, from what you've written about yourself so far, I can see that you have had a really-really hard time in this life and that you had to encounter a lot of pain and grief that very few people have to face. And after all that had happened to you, you are still here, and you are still brave, and you are kind and not angry or malicious with everyone. My heart goes out to you. I want you to know just how much I admire you - I don't think that I still would be around and in one piece, had I been in your shoes. Tam, you are wonderful! I admire your spirit and your courage! It takes a lot of wisdom and courage to keep working on your life when something goes seriously wrong, it takes courage and wisdom to face your problems and come to terms with them, it takes a great amount of inner strength just to go on when everything collapses around you. And I don't really know what it takes to remain a warm, open and loving person at the same time, but you sure have it all, Tam! just keep on, don't give in, be above the petty malice of narrow-minded females. May Gods bring you strength and happiness, and help you make you dreams come true!

marygaspe,

I don't understand why you went so personal and so hard on the public forum, but your post about Tam sounds extremely offensive.
