New government of Canada regulations governing possession and production of marijuana for medical purposes will come into effect on July 30, 2001. The government is also providing research funding and, in addition, has entered into a contract with a company to grow marijuana for medical purposes. Health Minister Allan Rock called the changed regulations "a landmark in our ongoing effort to give Canadians suffering from grave and debilitating illnesses access to marijuana for medical purposes." The Ontario Court of Appeal ruling July 31, 2000 in the case of Regina v. Parker prompted changes to the regulations.
People with MS who have serious pain and/or persistent muscle spasms are covered specifically in the regulations under Category 2. Category 1 is for applicants who have terminal illnesses. Category 2 applicants must provide a declaration from a medical specialist to support their applications. The applicant must confirm that conventional treatments have been tried or considered and found to be medically inappropriate.

three years ago i was in a car crash and recieved 70% 3rd degree burns on my body..sounds bad but thats my situation..im on certain medictions to relieve stress and tightness wich dont really work.... just another pla cebo..so here i have to seek certain medications to help my current situation..it sucks and this happens all over the world..
my question is..would it be possible to get a liecense to grow for my self instead of doing it the hard way..

I researched the issue way back when it was suggested to me as an alternative pain remedy.

This site can give you more info.... http://www.medicalmarihuana.ca/applyinfo.html .... but, for me it just wasn't worth the hassle, as it requires tons of paperwork, three to four docs, and yearly renewal. I live in BC, and before that, Northern Alberta. I have three neighbors in my nice neighborhood who check in with me regularly to make sure I'm well stocked. In Alberta I had plenty of people who were more than willing to get me whatever I needed.

Brightest Blessings

I was talking to my shrink about this last week. I was told there are pills that act like THC and makes the weed itself unneeded. I havent researched it but you might look into it.

Namaste
Tam

Id like to light a candle for you if you like.

the question is would they grant a leicense to grow for a medical purpose to another national

I believe so long as you're living in Canada, and have Canadian docs signing off on it, you can apply. I've seen nothing in the applications that requires a birth cert. or anything. But, your application does require a photo, signed by your doc, much like a passport, so that your license is issued with your photo on it and can not be passed off to a buddy.
