I'd like to offer my full support to our Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay for telling it like it is. The Hezbollah terrorists started this conflict and Israel has every right to go after them. The global war on terror has no borders and the civlians who choose to live amungst the terrorists there should be asking themselves why. If getting caught in the crossfire is what they want, then by all means they can live in an area inhabited by the Hezbollah terrorists.

I agree Hezbollah needs to be disarmed but don't agree that's going to happen by force of arms.
MacKay called the international force that's supposed to be formed as a "peacemaking" one which reveals which side of the controversy at the UN Canada is now being represented as supporting. Do you folks also think peace can be "made" in Lebanon?

The only way we are going to dismantle Hezbollah is if we invade Iran. Iran funds Hezbollah, so if we invade Iran, the funding will stop and Hezbollah will quickly die.

I think the Lebanese are the only one's who will be able to disarm them. Whether that ever would occur, who knows.

I find it funny though.. in keeping with the topic of this thread.. why the HELL is it that on talkshows and opinion pieces and EVERYWHERE... ALWAYS right-wing mouthpieces compare whatever to "cancer"....

Quite interesting to see the Opposition parties fully behind Hezbollah yes? Are we not glad we all voted for the Conservatives? With fools like the Opposition parties we would only seek to strengthen terrorists and their resolve.

Hezbollah is the biggest charitable donor to poor Lebanese. They contribute to a total of five of the biggest charities there. For every 1 Hezbollah killed, thousands are recruited. Good luck with that whole terrorism thing!
