Member of a Political Party?

Well I'm posting this in the Canadian political forum but you can post here if you a member of a party from another country.

I'm currently a MEmber of the New Democratic Party of Canada and the Ontario New Democratic party. I am considered an supporter of The Republic of Irelands Sinn Féin Party.

Youth member of both the Liberal Party of Canada, and the Liberal Party of Ontario, as well as the Liberal Party of Canada (Ontario) Wing. :P

I am a member of the Liberal Party of Canada, and the New Democratic Party of British Columbia. In terms of our countries, I support the Democratic Party of the United States of America, the Labour Party of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (although not His Excellency Tony Blair, the Member for Sedgefield and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, in particular), and in terms of Japan, I support the 日本の自由民主党 (or the Nihon no Jiyū Minshutō, or Liberal Democratic Party of Japan¹).

Well as for parties I support... I support the Labour Party of the UK, I support the German SPD and the American Social Democrats and the American Democratic Party and the Socialist party of Spain. But I've not really given any of these parties that much money. The only parties I've given money to, besides one which I won't say because it's my stupidty of youth are, the NDP, the PC's and Sinn Féin of the Republic of Ireland.

In terms of parties that I have ever donated money to, the only such party at this time is the Liberals. I have only ever donated twenty dollars, though. It's not particularly easy to donate to one's party of choice when one is a part-time working student.

Your right it's hard being a student these days. No money and debt for the average student and it's not getting any better.

I am a supporter of the New Democratic Party of Canada as well as the New Democratic Party of B.C and I will hopefully be getting a membership after I get back from the summer.

I also support Sinn Fein of Northern Ireland.

So they took you for 20 buck eh?

Back when I was in high school, I gave the PC's my lunch money... but I guess they were a high school bully if I put it that way. hahaha

I'm a member of the Feminist Initiative of BC and a supporter of the Green Party of Canada. Will probably become a member of the GPC at some point, but not before their August convention when they choose a new leader.

I would happily join a political party if it didn't cost money to do so. I guess it's a good way to raise money, but I think democracy should be free, and I think being a member of a political party is important for choosing a leader etc...

Green Party in America
Scottish Independence Party, in favour of Scottish independence and the Labour Party in Israel as well as the Fatah party lead my Abu Mazen in the Palestinian territories.

Volunteering doesn't cost anything and political parties always need volunteers.

As for me, to paraphrase Groucho Marx, I wouldn't join a party that would have such low standards as to admit me.

Gerry Adams and Michael McGuiness are murdering scum who should be publically hanged. Their politics, although once a quest for justice, have descended to the point where they are simply mouthpieces for a bunch of murderous gangsters running a protection racket under the guise of "The Cause". What BS!
It takes a bloody Irishman to delude himself to the degree that Gerry Adams becomes a hero......

I am a member of the Conservative Party of Canada. Before that I was a member of the Canadian Alliance, and before that I was a member of the Reform Party.

BTW, my heritage is English/Scots Irish........you know, the Scots Elizabeth 1 sent over to keep the Irish in line....

The Sinn Féin, is that not the party who possesses a handful of seats in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, but refuses to give their Oaths and take up their seats? That seems to be a somewhat odd method whereby to enact change — ignore the democratic institution, and hope that change is enacted during your abstention?

Yes they do, but I mainly support the Republic of Ireland Sinn Féin for there policies of a united Ireland, some left wing policies and so on. I'm not a big fan of the leader of the North of Irelands Sinn Féin leader but *shrugs*. I just don't think the two main parties in Ireland no longer represent the people. I nominally support the Irish Labour party as well but... I just don't think they have a good party platform during the republics elections.

I believe in a United Ireland, but one done threw the peace process.

FiveParadox, the members from the North of Ireland which the UK claims as it own are Republicans who do not believe in the claim the UK has over the North of Ireland and do not see the Queen as there monarch. To take the oath would be in some peoples minds as being disloyal to the Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and the freedom of the Irish people.

Edit2) However as you have said both the North of Irelands wing of the Sinn Féin and the IRA have not been helpful at times in the peace process and can be frustriating, but the British and the British Army and Paramilitists are just as bad. But I would say the wrost in this are the extreme nationalists on the proddy side, the C-IRA and the R-IRA and the so called P-IRA which are all small spliter groups who have broken away from the IRA and don't respect the cease fire and are sometimes confused with the IRA.
