The Honourable Roy Cullen, P.C., M.P., the Member for Etobicoke North and the Natural Resources Critic for Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition, is saying that the Honourable Rona Ambrose, P.C., M.P., the Member for Edmonton—Spruce Grove and the Minister of the Environment should order the delegation from Canada at the United Nations Conference of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol to return home, and resign from her seat as the Chairperson of the Conference.

The new Government of Canada seems to be second-guessing the concept of ethanol expansion in Canada (an effort started by the previous Government of Canada to make fuel less harmful to the environment); after days of saying that an announcement relating to ethanol expansion would be forthcoming after a meeting with the Ministers of the Crown of the Provinces, Ms. Ambrose now appears to be silent on the matter.

Hon. Roy Cullen[/color], P.C., M.P.,]The Harper government has still yet to put one penny into any projects that will actually reduce greenhouse gas emissions in this country. There have been no negotiations with industry on how to fight global warming, and they're undermining the Kyoto protocol while advocating for voluntary targets and less enforcement for its next round. [...] They are fundamentally dismantling all of Canada's efforts to fight global warming.

 My Opinion Re: Conduct of Ambrose

Ms. Ambrose's conduct as the Minister of the Environment has been, in my opinion, an abject failure. She continues to denounce the Kyoto Accord (no doubt on the orders of the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, P.C., M.P., the Member for Calgary Southwest and the Prime Minister of Canada), while advocating nothing more than saying that we should be creating a "made-in-Canada solution". Where is this "made-in-Canada" strategy? It doesn't exist, and now she is attempting to distract people from the issue through mixed messages on other environmental fronts.
