The Agriculture Revenue Crisis

The Bloc Québécois contends that farmers in Canada cannot compete with the assistance given farmers in other nations; they are urging the Government of Canada to take immediate steps to ensure that the agriculture and agri-food industries in Canada can participate in the market abroad, without the inherent disadvantages that the Bloc would suggest plague the current domestic industries.

Alors que l'inaction du fédéral entraîne la disparition d'une ferme par semaine au Québec, d'autres gouvernements agissent pour donner à leurs producteurs des avantages que les producteurs agricoles d'ici ne peuvent concurrencer.

I just heard that Harper is going to give $500 million aid to farmers, nowhere near the $2 billion they asked for. I think Harper might lose alot of support in farming provinces over this issue.
