canadian defense policy

a furry friend of mine suggested that canada adopt an independant defense policy- be able to DEFEND itself by itself ---
canada should become the next nuclear power----
replete with 200-300 nukes aboard constantly cruising subs
as a nice deterent to anyone who would try and ---liberate--
us
also take full military control of the northwest passage

im not sure i agree with my friend -- but it sound better than being a poodle

While the formatting of that post was horrendous, hehe — I would agree, in principle, with the sentiment behind the statements made. In my opinion, however, we should adopt a somewhat less "aggressive" strategy; assuring sovereignty in Canada is, of course, important — including the northwestern Arctic part of Canada.
