Next Conservative Leader, Next NDP Leader

Because there is a question about who should be the next Liberal leader. I was thinking, what would happen if Harper or Layton lost leadership races.

Who would run the NDP and Conservatives;

Conservative: Mackay, Flarhety

NDP; Ed Broadbent?

Conservatives... gotta be MacKay. Who else? No one comes to mind.

NDP... can't see Layton losing. Although I don't agree with his politics, he is a good leader for the party. Charismatic but needs a little more federal experience. And Broadbent is retired isn't he?

a full set of leaders mite be able freshen up the political arena.

Mackay for the conservatives is a must, the conservatives have got to stop electing party leaders who look evil/sadastic/retarded(harper has some of all 3) Mackay would resonate with the common man(remember the interview on the farm!)

I was thinking Ed Broadbent coming out of retirement again.

It seems only the Liberals have a wide-variety of people who could take over.

A true statement to the lack of leadership in this country.

Clark came out to lead the PCs

Now, Broadbent is the best suggestion for the NDP.

If the Tories do lose this election, I bet Peter Mackay would become leader....although I would much rather he not...he is a little to left-wing for my tastes...seems more of a Liberal leader than a Tory.

Isn't Broadbent in his late seventies? 77 comes to mind. A little old, don't you think?

As for the Conservatives, I had hoped Chuck Strahl would step up to the plate when the time comes......but that is not going to happen, as his cancer will get him sooner rather than much later.

I don't much like Peter Mackay. I thought his signing on with Orchard during the leadership race was disgraceful. Not only that, it was panic. Mackay had it sewn up without Orchard, and he lost his nerve. Not PM material. Not yet, anyway.

Sigh. I guess I'll just have to come out of nowhere, take up politics, and become PM.

Well there doesn't seem to be anyone else for the NDP.

And only Mckay for the Conservatives. Unless you want a right-wing guy where there is no one.

yea, its too bad I don't much like Mckay. Stockwell Day would of made a fine PM though.

Hank,...i can tell you with 100% certainty that it will NOT be Stockwell Day. You get one chance for the big ring....

But with that said...McKay has to be a shoo in, but do not discount Monty Solberg, Jim Prentice (he ran once), and my personal choice based on her performance, charisma and the speed in which she rose the ranks, Rona Ambrose.

For the NDP, umm....there is this tall guy in their party that i remember when they stood up to vote on the fall of parliament. He seems stoic, but i don't know his name...umm. Honestly, i have no idea, but if Jack Layton gains seats, he won't go anywhere.

Mackay??

Isn't he the guy who promised not to join the PCs with the Alliance? Just replace one liar with another?

Yeah, probably, all politicians are liars, at least the Liberals and Conservatives are at least.

Is it a sad commentary on politics when we just assume whoever we vote in will be a liar? Sigh....

Honestly, i would like to see some nobody from all parties go for the big ring...some up and comer with fresh ideas instead of the old establishment.

Hm ... the next Conservative leader should be PcKay 'cause he's hot.

At least then we can have a Prime Minister I don't have to cringe at. O.o
