He was aquitted by the courts, Spinster. Your premier wasn't when he decided to get blind drunk and go cruising around a foreign country in his rental car.

He does not have to tell himself that, the courts said so. You cannot SPIN court decisions. Your premier is a crook.

What on EARTH are you talking about??? If you are talking about that VASI and Virk, they are not elected officials, and a JUDGE has put a gag order on the information seized - not the Liberals. You obviously have no idea how the judicial system works!

you are forgetting very conveniently, that both vasi and virk were considered to be SENIOR AIDES TO THE CABINET. they weren't lackies running around spinning stuff. THEY WERE SENIOR AIDES. which means they had knowledge and power to make a few things happen. it also happens to involve drug trading and organized crime. from the ranks of the liberal party members. so don't tell me or anyone else that we don't know what we are talking about. unfortunately we do know what we are talking about, and it is a very serious issue.

be careful who your bed partners are insig, i think that all residences of bc have the right to know what is happening within the liberal party and within the legislature.

He was found "Not giulty", which isn't the same as "found to have done nothing wrong".

The court found one way, we the people found another.

You really don't need to tell me to think Insignificant . I realize the deck in that way was to equate to millions. My point was how classy Campbell was in seeing that Clark was brought down over it. Given time or interest Campbell will be caught doing the same or worse. What goes around comes around and when a premier has to cater to big business to earn his job, somewhere and soon some media hound othewr than The Priovince , Sun or Times Colonist owned by Campbell's support team will nail the creep.

A finding of "not guilty" means the crown didn't prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. It doesn't mean the accused did nothing wrong.

well that's good to know, i am sure the liberal party must breathe easier with that info.

Your boy wasn't aquitted for his crime though, was he C? In fact he was convicted. So he is guilty and Clark is not guilty.

Now, nobody ever died from a deck but quite a few people have died from drunk drivers. Now I argued for Campbell when he was first charged on the basis that DUI had nothing to do with his job. Then he started messing around with BC's drunk driving laws. Oops, looks like a major conflict of interest to me.

BTW, I dug through some old invoices. An 8x10 deck (couldn't find a 10x10, sorry), PTG, $1500. Railing, PTG, $300. Closed stringer steps, $250.

Ah... but did he pay fair wages? Did he go with the union contractor?

Campbell pleaded guilty to his DWI, he didn't waste everyone's time by fighting it. How many drunk drivers can say the same? He also promised never to drink again... a promise he's apparently kept, as we'd have heard about it otherwise.

How did he mess with B.C.'s drunk driving laws?

Give it a Google, C. I'm not here to do your homework for you.

That's from this year. Go back to shortly after the charge against Campbell and you'll find that MADD was extremely unhappy with what he wanted to do.

If you don't like the link I found, then post your own. I'm not here to do your homework, either. :P

The major reforms, like rehabilitation and ignition interlocks for repeat offenders, are up to the discretion of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles and have yet to be solidified in practice. No other province leaves impaired driving legislation practice up to its Superintendent. In other provinces, penalties are written into the legislation.

from the MADD site it seems like we have a little ways to go.

The entire statement made by the MADD was already posted in the thread that is now locked.

i guess the whole point of this thread is to point out to the general public that the liberal party has a few issues they have yet to deal with. one day i would imagine they will become public knowledge but in the meantime they will do their best to make sure we don't remember these issues.

They are all corrupt, but the double standard is what bothers me. If the legislature raid had happened under the NDP's watch, or if Glen Clark had been busted for drunk driving, the media would have insisted on keeping the story in the news and bringing down the government over it. Funny how Clark and Harcourt stepped down, and were later exonerated of any wrong-doing. But the villification continues, while Mr. Campbell seems immune to this level of media scrutiny. Don't get me wrong. I don't believe in any of the parties or the politicians. I am not an NDP supporter, or any other party. They all make me sick.

The problem with the BC major media is that it is all owned and controlled by Can West. They are very anti NDP, anti union and anti labour.
