Canadians are willing to reduce personal emissions by "5 megatones" as the promo TV spot, with funnyman Rick Mercer, says.
So we would expect the really big polluters to do something too.
Our leader Paul Martin shows his siding with big industry instead of ordinary Canadainas though - he says the biggest pollutors cannot possibly meet the 55-megatonne reductions , so let them "do whatever they can". 37 is fine, or none if its a problem, than you for listening...
The opposition show they are the other side of the same coin - Bob Mills says: "See? We told you Kyoto was a bad idea". Thats it for opposition answers to global warming, in spite of disaterous weather and climate change wreaking havoc.
Allways put it on the backs of regular people, let the biggest wealthiest and most powerfull off the hook. Its rigged to increase the inequality of wealth and power in Canada, the world - by both Canada's main parties [NDP stands alone in being onside with the people].
John Efford is the industry minister. He comes from big industry, specially planted into politics to do this henchman job for the big industries. It is highly suspicious that someone earning the huge rewards of big business would come down to being a minister or an MP [he was gauranteed minsiter jobs I bet], unless the top dogs "appointed" him to do this running rough shod over Canadian's most important issues. Hatchet man for avoiding Kyoto, and for forestry practises.
It is interesting that CLIMATE CHANGE is contributing to the LANDSLIDES with severe rainfall episodes on CLEARCUT areas of B.C., his home province. That combination of forestry industry practises and non-regulation of emissions from other big industries [avoiding Kyoto] are both under Efford's pervue, and he is willingly ignoring them both!!
